Frozen orb drama and solution

Not sure if you were referring to me, but the difference is that when I require Frozen Orb to craft e.g. Tempered Titansteel Helm as pre-raid BiS to equip the helmet myself, I would roll need.
Once I am done with my own gear and craft items in order to sell on AH, I would roll greed on the orb unless everyone else is rolling need.

It really depends on the community agreement and from what I remember from original WotLK, people were always asking at the group form-up how to roll on the orbs and mostly came to decision that if you craft for yourself, then you need the orb, if you craft for profit, then it’s greed and as I mentioned I go by that rule to this day.

You can’t enforce this on others though and some people are selfish so it really depend on what players you do HC dungeons with. OP sounds like kind of person who roll “need for greed” on the orb even though everyone else agreed on what I mentioned above.

Like always in this game, some people are marrying pixels. So, if you need something, then you need it. It is needed for almost all professions, so in most cases, it’s justified to need it.

No. And that’s my problem. I paly as I did in OG Vanilla, Nee it means I can equip it and it¨s an upgrade. If no-one has this need you vcan ask to need for OS, but if you just want the G Gredd is the option.
HR did not exist back tehn, at least not in the PUGs I joined then.

Drama? Solution? You people realize this is just a game and you’re talking about a guaranteed drop worth 50g right? Never had any Frozen Orb drama, never even considered such a humorous idea.

I’m curious, what is your definition of “greed”? Because BoP items can also be vendored for money.

I don’t even disagree with the “all need” rule, but that justification made me chuckle abit.

The method for Frozen Orbs is simple, just as it was for Primal Nethers.

When the orb drops, each person who needs the orb must link their profession into chat and then present a case for their right to own the orb in 200 words or less.

The group leader then assumes the role of ‘judge’ and halts all group progress in order to evaluate the case made by each player on the merits of their contribution to the group. Any and all remaining group members are turned into an ad-hoc ‘jury’ who help decide the final outcome.

Player A presents their case for the orb, while the group leader arbitrates - allowing questions and comments from the ‘Jury’.

Player B then presents their case in the same manner.

If more than two players want the orb a ‘Provisional Magistrate’ system may be temporally set up which actually allows the ones who need the orb to serve as temporary jury members.

Once the judge’s decision has been made, Player B has a brief window in which to argue for a retrial - but in order for this to happen the group leader must step down from their position of Judge, and the position then falls to the person who is fastest to answer a random lore question from the WoW universe.

i.e: What was the official role and title of Sylvanas Windrunner during the foundation of Silvermoon?

Upon winning the ‘case’ and being awarded the orb, the victor must then bow to each member of the group in turn and thank them for their wisdom and providence.

Stick to the above system and I assure you that all orb-related drama will vanish.

You just love to exaggerate a lot on every discussion topic, don’t you?

On Thekal everyone rolls need on orbs.

Are you saying you don’t do any of the above?

This is too complicated. Everyone just go need and its quick and eventually you will get yours.

I “need” an orb each day for my JC daily CD…but do I NEED it? Nah I can get gems in other ways.

Also what if I have someone making me something? At this point into the xpac, orbs aren’t high demand like before. JCs want 1 a day, maybe a couple other profs. Otherwise they go on the AH or guild bank for most.

Heck no I don’t. I just have some preference about the roll and loot distribution, but I don’t go flipping tables if other does not share my opinion.
If everyone roll need on the orb, so do I. Without any debate on how we should roll.
If entire group decide to roll greed for the orb I go by that agreement.
If entire group decide to roll greed and someone still roll need, I tell them my thoughts on how foul it is, but won’t halt the progress through the dungeon.

I admit I’ve not had a great deal of success in getting people to adopt my new system, but I live in eternal hope.

What even is this topic? I’ve never seen anyone complain about the fact that everyone rolls need on it. Just roll need, nobody cares.
