Game makes me sad

people called me doomsayer for calling the truth… as usual… sad to see wow go this way…

but blizzard really did mishandle literally everything…

did everything in their own interests… and when it came to player interests they abused it and only gave out when they looked bad…

you get what you deserve unfortunately…

and wow deserves to die for the just darn right abysmal handling of everything the past many years… (not just recently)

Bit harsh! Plenty of people still enjoy wow.

it sort of deserves to die because of their business model. they can’t design a game that retains players so they artificially extend content through RNG, grind, time gating etc… and just as people start unsubbing they drop another bite of content just enough to keep people keen.
wow as an MMORPG is dead. open world is just a lobby where you wait for a queue to pop up or to enter a portal.

havent read 43 posts, but i just want to respond to that sentence that keeps on coming back.

whether players liked some features or not is a personal opinion. there is no “right/wrong” here. some people like stuff, some people dont, some just dont care.

people dont play shadowlands because its objectively bad. its simply a bad game. a really really bad one.
9.1.5 is like taking a bad game, and making it worse. its even worse when players keep on telling them that 9.1.5 changes are a huge mistake.

Hmph! The game is FINE !!!
It just the end of its grand finale. You will see the trumph of blizzard!!

Very true - ask yourself when was the last time you spoke to a stranger in the open world while questing?

Look at the feed in your guild chat or on general chat for that matter - no one talks, not even about the game anymore … or very few do considering the numbers.

It’s a ghost world and the model is more and more designed to be single player driven - do chores split into more chores for a diluted reward all neatly timed to bring you to the next expac were everything is reset and you do it all again only this time longer more diluted and convoluted.

Still some of us live on a memory, some of us are addicted, some of us prefer here than there.

Sadly there are none of Warcraft.

i mean there are few cases of either
others telling you how to play your class ?
or tmog shaming because of someone being offended about something

the main reason ppl avoid contact well for that you got to point the finger in the direction of the wannabe Esporters and there toxic behavior, we can only hope they all left and play FF14 now.

If you put a competitive, time based game mode where personal mistake have way more weight potentially leading to the run being wasted, what did you expect exactly?

Hmmmn, no, they called you a doomsayer for doomsaying. As usual. And they were right.

This is also the problem. People think raids are all the game is about.

If you do, you don’t want an MMORPG, go find a different game.

No, FFXIV is not that game unless you are utterly morally bankrupt. It does not surprise me that Streamers have flocked there, they have the personal integrity of an alley cat on combat drugs as long as they make money.

If you support FFXIV these days, given Square Enix’s business partner, then…Well…that’s pretty vile behaviour, and I hope you never suffer what you are funding.

I mean at least Tencent/The MSS has only a 10% share in Blizz/Activision, as opposed to being an active Business partner with them.

WoW is in a state alright, but it could be so…so…so much worse…

The FFXIV director cares more about WoW then Blizzard does

And also is a business partner with a company funded by the MSS, who run forced pregnancy camps, ‘disappear’ people, execute those against the state, etc etc…

FFXIV is not as ‘fluffy’ as it seems.

But who cares about atrocities eh? Look! Catgirls!

relatives maybe or flexible investors, i don’t think theres a real connection to the game devs

Decided to play NeverWinter bit bored already BUT it is really busy - WOW server has 2 people on, 0 after 10pm & we share with AD :sob::sob:

Somebody linked a stream, can’t remember who it was now, but anyway the guy streaming was giving his view of why the decline in WoW, but every streamer has views right? I found his take more interesting because instead of the usual WoW bad type, he was talking about how we as players become comfortable with an MMO or in some cases addicted. A lot of what he said made sense, I no longer enjoy retail in it’s current state, but I am finding it hard to ‘fall in love’ with another MMO - it makes me angry with myself lol

1.11 million split cross multiple realms and most importantly, multiple regions. If you also consider that active means having a subscription, plenty of people raid log, which means logging in maybe once, twice, three times tops. And in content that involves private groups.

Don’t get fooled by “active players” count, it’s very misleading.

Me and 5 friends used to play wow. Now I play alone. I can definatley say it is not better with less people playing…
