Game Masters - what good are they?

Of course i’m getting “hung up” on historical definitions. I want it back.

I know perfectly well how it is. There’s no point telling me about how it works today as if it’s a law of nature.

The game is a lot more complicated than it used to be, doing something they’re not supposed to do could stop your character from working correctly. Then people would really complain.

It not a law, it’s the rules the GMs have to follow, I seem to remember some anecdotal evidence that some GMs have been fired over breaking the rules they have to follow.

I’m not saying this to the individual GM. I’m expressing a view on Blizzard’s forum.

I have to upvote this topic.
I have a problem wit mount disappearing (and it is Blazing drake, my last one for “Awake the drake”). And instead of trying to help they just say: "we don’t see it"and close the ticket.
I would think of myself crazy, but another personal irl have seen the drake and the achievement when I got it on the screen. So they have to TRY help me and not close ticket asap, of course there is something wrong in the system. I remember totally different behandling back in wotlk and cata.

Ananda - you seem to only be focusinng on the vessel… I did say in my original post about a page being returned??? So why couldn’t they do this …

ALSO - to add to my point about GM’s being absolutely USELESS…

I raised a ticket myself a couple of weeks ago regarding a questline in Outland. I was struggling to find out how to start a certain quest line and I done lots of research on wow head etc and just came stuck. So I raised a ticket explaining all of this and what questline I wanted to start and explained the research I had done…

Now this is something I think a GM would of been useful for - maybe they could of told me where to pick the quest up or how to unlock the quest line… but no… they replied and told me to use wowhead.

GM’s ARE USLESS AND ITS ABOUT TIME SOMETHING WAS DONE ABOUT IT!!

This changed years ago, probably when Activision got involved… I remember back in Vanilla, TBC and Wrath having GMs pop in to the game or message directly and help out quite regularly. Sadly this isn’t going to change because the “game company” has become a corporate business

GMs are not there to help you play the game, only when something goes wrong, and then within their remit.

The wowhead comments should have helped you.
