Get Summer Ready During the June Trading Post

Yet again I am on the side of critque, because shifting the game back and forth from dark and gloomy to whimsical and goofy is not good game direction. It’s crap. It shows a complete lack of vision and confidence in your product when the captain on the ship appears drunk and you don’t know if you’re going to end up in the Bermuda Triangle or the Isle of Pleasure.
Decide what the game is supposed to be about, how it’s supposed to look, and what kind of atmosphere it’s supposed to have, and then make that so that players actually know what they’re getting themselves into.

This kind of nonsense where each month we’re sitting here and don’t know if we’re going to get a cute playboy bunny outfit or an armor set made from the skulls of children and dripping with blood, is absurd.

Is Sailor moon mogs and butter fly wings and pet rewards very manly? Would I be less offensive if I said they where? Stop being this way…

The difference though is you see girly. When I saw the beach chair I thought United Colors of Benneton. Not LGBQT.

Okay, how is a pet reward feminine or masculine in any way shape or form?

There are probably dressing room options on Wowhead but I am not really that fussed.

I did think the storytelling wobbled a bit after Legion. I think Metzen has sort of… redirected them to a good arc now he’s had a break and sorted his back and stress out. Only time will tell.

Me thinkies not. Moobs need protection from the sun too!

This has been in the game since vanilla, lol.

Here’s some other pets that you can obtain that definitely don’t fit “high fantasy medieval setting with elements of steampunk”.

Yes, that’s a protoss.

Yes, that’s another zerg.

Those mounts are just so girly you know, all the girls love a turtle! :turtle:

like sorry to break the bubble? But yes? A cute slow turtle with pokemon eyes look very girly…

The thing is you are saying it like the entirety of males do not look for this. There are women who don’t like this either, me included. You can only speak for you. By speaking this way you are merely repeating the indoctrination of stereotypes and it needs to be stamped out. Just speak for yourself as I said earlier - you don’t like it, you want something else, that’s fine and it will come.

June is pride month now, apparently. So the chance of getting a LGBTQIA+ item was basically 100%, and it is indeed the “Colorful beach chair”, was has not only the rainbow, but also the torquise/pink/gray/white stripes next to the chair.

But other than that? The Shredder strikes me as slightly feminine due to the colouring, but also slightly masculine due to the mechanical nature of it. Both are very small signals. It’s a wash. The turtle is… well, it’s a turtle. Hard to argue anything there.

The swimwear is not LGBT; especially the right one, which is feminine in the extreme and there’s no LGBT anything in sight. The gun looks like a watergun and doesn’t exude any gender-related things.

As far as I’m concerned, you’ve got a point with one item. For pride month. I think most can get over that.

I think Metzen is the creative captain on the ship that has just put out swim suits and super soakers.

If I get items in a Harry Potter game I can be confident that they’re going to be wizardry and fitting for the universe.
If play a Lord of the Rings game I get items appropriate to the world of Middle Earth.
If I play a Star Wars game I get light sabers and cloaks and jetpacks and other things fitting for the galaxy far far away.

But if I play WoW, then I seemingly get whatever random kind of junk Blizzard came up with by asking a kid on the street to pick 10 random words in the dictionary.
