Sometimes things get added in the files but get utilised many many years later.

What it means is a million more lines of spaghetti code for a dev to work around just to incorporate what a small minority want.
What it means is more dev time on a body type over other more appropriately used options.
You’re comparing a fresh plate to stacked China, one plate topples and it’s all scuffed.
An ancient engine that’s had tweaks to a much more modern engine.
And again. Since both of you lack any understanding of the pain staking work. Baldurs Gate is a fraction of the size in work load compared to all the animations, armours, body sizes, armour sizing etc. Now chuck on transmog so every type of X armour fits X class be it cloth, leather or whatever.
Now take into consideration that you want your beach wear. That’s more.
So what are you going to sacrifice? Because developers are under enough crunch in work spaces as is trying to please the majority.
I’m not trying to be rude, I just don’t like the assumption its easy. I’m sure if it was, Blizzard would’ve met the par that other RPGs offer in character customisation already. All I can offer is my personal experience on things far, far smaller which is painful enough!
Now you’re just assuming things about me. They’re a consumer and have a right to ask that. That’s all I said. you just took something, transformed into something different. I never said it’s easy. Wow has been massively improving on content cadence in dragonflight, but customisation is lacking and they have a right to ask for it. Especially with all the promises during Shadowlands.

I’m not assuming anything. It’s painfully clear.
I stated many reasons possibly why. But you dodged them, then circled back to customer entitlement and went on the defensive because I called you out on an abysmal comparison with reasons why.
The only one moving goal posts here is you. This was about a dud comparison, now it’s suddenly you shifting it to what a customer is entitled too.
“you just took something, transformed into something different.”
Might just be a placement thing, its not sure where the ground is on the docs.
I don’t plan on fighting you, all I said that you are allowed to expect more. If you’ve heard things from inside, especially from during Bobby’s time, you’ll know they were basically self-sabotaging, if what’s said is to be believed. Management just not approving things that would improve the game, projects being cancelled left and right without a good reason. I have no reason not to trust them. If you ask me for a source, no, I can’t provide that. People who publicly stated that were mostly forced to take it down not much later because it was basically slandering their employer’s name.
What we see from this expansion on is what the real developers’ talent and management is truly. If remix level of quality and decisions is what is coming next then I’m not sorry for holding them to a higher standard.
Honestly, those chainmail bikinis look like they wouldn’t even block a stone thrown at them. That’s hardly “chainmail”, more like “chainfence” instead.

I feel like you’re hyperfixating on the BG3 part of the arguement, their arguement pure in essence feels like that Blizzard is not currently prioritizing quality nor quantity, there is not much content and what is there is just badly written at the baseline, again, no need to involve BG3 to get this point across. The arguement is more then ‘Blizzard should be better because BG3 exists’
This arguement they have is completely valid and I would argue is also true, wow development feels like it has been slogged down by metric farms and other such necessities to prove to a shareholder that it can be profitable for its money, this has caused retention features that have been detrimental to the enjoyment of the game of a lot of people, me included, because my response was to bubble up in my RP and just not play the actual game part of the game anymore. You do not need to bring up BG3 in order to see this issue if you’ve been around for long enough, or simply have access to the history of the game in any format
If I misinterpreted their arguement thats also possible, but I feel like the comparison to BG3 took over the arguement

You don’t. Better expressed even than I did.
Footnote: BG3 I just mentioned because it is a prime example of a game being both diverse and well executed.

I’m perfectly happy with the trading post never having any cool stuff.
Means I can completely neglect the tender grind.
