Lucky me I delayed my week off from the end of July to the 21st-27th Aug [in between my regular off days, so I’m off from the 14th to the 3rd of September [7on 7off].

Blizzard needs the patch out before Gamescom, which is August 20, because they’re going to reveal Midnight there. And Midnight won’t make any sense without the context of the ending of The War Within, so Blizzard has to get the ending of The War Within out the door before they reveal Midnight at Gamescom, so the WoW fans can understand what’s going on.
And then the dates become pretty dictatorial. Gamescom is August 20. The bare minimum time Blizzard can give raiders to get through the whole new raid is 1 week – which is what they’ve given them. So the raid comes out on August 13. And the raid has open a week after the patch release because of post-PTR hotfixes, so the patch comes out on August 6. That’s the longest development time Blizzard can give themselves, given the desire to make an announcement at Gamescom.
Blizzard are running a very tight ship. Let us hope it is not too tight and that the patch won’t be a rushed, buggy, incomplete mess.

Yes, this, but double down on it even more. The transmog-design of the Demon Hunter raid boss is very lazy though. Have they been in Nighthold or what?
Yeah, I when I saw that boss, I was like “did they just go, let’s throw that hood on him and that will be so cool!”.
They could have put a bit more effort into it. But let’s be honest the people making the decision recently in terms of visual content are not hitting the mark and Microsoft needs to step in and do us all a favour and force them out of their position and hire some people with passion to put more effort into their work.
