Give us fixed rating score in Battleground Blitz

People like Ziqo and Pshero who wued since day 1 for solo blitz are hardstuck at 2.6 rate and their rate don’t go down even if they lose to lower mmr people.
You had to que since day 1 to get hardstuck high mmr and never go down.

Tbh, my main goal was to get 1.8 and to get the Elite Set, right now I am playing for fun. Though, of course, I would love to push my limits, but for now it is what it is.

Players tend to switch up MMR / CR.

If you win games at way higher MMR than your CR, the game give you more CR to catch up (coz you are not belong to that rating). So the MMR is where you should be at.

Example (the numbers simplified):

  • 1800 CR, 2000 MMR: win = 20 rating, lose = no rating change
  • 1800 CR, 1900 MMR: win = 15 rating, lose = -5 rating
  • 1800 CR, 1800 MMR: wn = 10 rating, lose = -10 rating
  • 1800 CR, 1700 MMR: win = 5 rating, lose = -15 rating
  • 1800 CR, 1600 MMR: win = no rating change, lose = -20 rating

The enemy vs your team MMR matters only for your MMR up/down (as far as i observed). If your team losing to an enemy team with lower MMR, you get less and guess what… you gain more MMR if you win against a higher team. It’s affects your CR gain/loss on your next games.

That’s why so hard to get back rating after you had a lose streak and your personal MMR goes near or below your CR, because you have to push your MMR again before you gain CR.

Also i have no idea why the game put someone at 1.4-1.5MMR when (s)he just won a game at 1.7 MMR  I seen this a lot in pre-patch and also in this season, but looks like it’s more stable above 1.6 (or 10+ games). One of my guildmate started with a reallly bad lose streak, he played at least 20-30 games just to get 1.6 even if he had a good w/l ratio after that start. Then he pushed to 1.8 CR in his next ~10-12 games easily.

The problem with this bracket is that, it’s not just skill based, it’s also luck based. You can have a really good start and even at 1.4 CR you can play at 2.2k MMR where you don’t lose any points for at least 5-6 games (until your personal MMR reaches your CR).

This is very helpful.

Thank you very much.

you guys think way too hard about this stuff.

Ziqo and Pshero aren’t ‘hardstuck’ at 2.6k MMR, they’re at 2.6k MMR because they’re some of the best players in the world playing with 60-70% winrate at high MMRs

Rated BG blitz need a change entirely, too many people ruining the BGs by playing like a pve player fighting in the mid or ignoring objectives, not enough is done to stop players from doing this and riding on coattails of better players doing the obj

0-1400 I thought I was carrying teams but wasnt sure, 1500+ im sure I was carrying the teams and now cannot win because of the sheer amount of zen ‘its a game, just have fun’ players, its definitely not fun going on a huge lose streak because people literally dont even care for the objectives or play to win

stuck at 1400 now after my first lose streak, max pain, game after game with nubs just trying to parse mid in a frickin bg

I’m tired of playing with people between 1500-1700 mmr, people are horrible, they are worse than arathi bots, this is hell. I would pay whatever it took to blizzard to not play with these people, they are the biggest trash in this game

This **** company has the worst matchmaking and ranking system in the history of gaming.

I am now almost 15 Rated Blitz losses in a row in which we were always dominated due to being in a useless team every single time.

We got a game where the enemy had 4 Destro Warlocks. That’s 50% of their team. They DESTROYED us in Temple of Kotmogu.

Next game was Warsong and our team had 8 random CASTERS. That’s 8 cloth and leather wearers. The enemy had a balance of plate and cloth and they NUKED us.

My comps also tend to consist of the typical bots joining and straight up asking “First time here, how do the flags work?” or “Sorry, 2nd time playing as Subtlety.”

All this in ~1800 Rating. Wins net you around +7, losses hit -16 rating. I am literally on my way to -300 rating in a single night.

Then you have Solo Shuffle in which I get 40min+ queues, making it impossible to play with my schedule.

Can’t wait for my sub to end to leave this thing behind.

Not going to lie, I’m relieved I managed to hit 1.8 rating on my main as a tank. After a few complaints, I decided to give it a shot as DPS. I’ve been playing RBGs on my alt for the past few days, and honestly, it’s a complete mess. Calling them bots would be too generous, at this point, even bots are smarter. I can’t even tell if “Neanderthals” is an appropriate term for what I’m dealing with.

I’ve had the bad luck of being repeatedly placed in Eye of the Storm and Silvershard Mines. In the Eye of the Storm, people just run to the middle and fight while ignoring the bases being taken right under their noses. In Silvershard Mines, they’re so fixated on one cart that they ignore everything else. It’s like they’re in their own world. What on earth is going on? And dont even let me start on Twin Peaks and Warsong Gulch where MW passes 70% if not 80% of the map in 2 seconds. How on earth is that thing is not nerfed yet?

People keep telling me, “Just win a few games, and your MMR will increase dramatically.” But how am I supposed to win when I’m constantly paired with players like these? After over 150 games, I still haven’t been blessed by the RNG gods.

Just give us a fixed win/loss rating system already.

I enjoy bgs, and that is the only reason why I still keep spamming it. Before I was investing my time in M+ at least, but got burnt out of it.

even worse is kotmogu, im only one above 300 victory points

Spamming all day, finally reaching 1700 cr and above, thinking you will get better people, hell no, game decides that you had enough, and places you with 1.4-1.5 mmr people while you were in winning streak, and you start losing -15, -15,-15. Honey, welcome back to 1.5 cr.

Kotomogu and its players are another BS. Had a BDK last night, who says “I cannot take orbs because I am a DK and squishy”, again they were a Blood DK.

Another one, I even took screenshot, because no one would believe me.

I wish I could climb that high as solo dps, but every time i queue i get dps who dont do objectives, instantly break cc, lose cap right under their nose, dont spin flag, dont focus efc, and healers who do not know at all how to heal its frustrating

Eh… tried to be optimistic about this game mode. I was even trying to “motivate” others, but now that I started as DPS. I can clearly understand why so many people were complaining. It just feels like if you did the RBGS first week you were lucky, and now you are left with leftovers.

Though I must say, there are people who have roughly 30-40 rounds played, and they are above 2k cr. And yet here I am, over 150 games, and 1.6. I wonder how do they do that.

No, I am not saying I am good player. But out of 8 players, there could be at least 2-3 in team who play at least.

Duo queue, guaranteed 2 player with brain instead of just 1

Yes, my friends and others who I know said the same thing. Duo q, and “carrying” the teams.

might sound pretentious but thats what happen, u can discord and do callouts with ur friend, duo with warrior, he stop efc every time, we coordinate cc and not break, ninja cap things, but ppl still find way throw match

If there is no official ranking/mmr/cr explanation, it means it has faults, simple as that. Any player saying otherwise is just ignorant. If it is not written anywhere, how do you know?

"mmr moves up and down faster than cr
mmrs purpose is to make sure you’re fighting players of similar skill levels

if your mmr and cr are similar it means you’re in the right bracket at the moment for your skill level
and 50/50WLing will allow you to climb slowly/naturally

if you start winning more than you lose your mmr will go up and you’ll fight better players which will give you more points and cost you less points on wins/losses
the point of this is to move you out of the bracket you’re currently in since you’re better than the players you’re qing into

if you lose more than you win your mmr will go down putting you against worse players making wins worth less and losses cost more"

When you read this, it would “make” sense (even tough it is not official statement) if you are playing 1vs1! Or if you have your own team (2vs2, 3vs3, rated BG). Anything else like Blitz, Solo Shuf it is a no go. You can not control or demand what other player on your team will do. You can push them in the right direction but in most cases you will not succeed.

Again give us blue post on calculation and not just win more to climb. If a player starts with 1500 and wins 2 games and looses 1, that player should be in a better position then 1500 and not in deficit. “But you were matched with players with lower MMR” and why is that? “placment 20-50 games”, well there should not be that from the beginning. There are players with 800 MMR competing against 1600MMR. You are in big trouble if you loose this one.

So please official calculation table.

And yet, you are climbing and climbing and sudddenly the game decides to place you with 1.4 -1.6 mmr people from 2k mmr.

And for losing in 1.4-1.6 you get -15 minimum, and it continues.

My guess is that the new players get a default (seeded) MMR about 1.5k.

Their skill level is lower however, so they will lose more games than they win. By doing so they inflate the system, distributing their points.

This will continue, until the system is inflated to the point when the new players’ 1500 is devalued to their actual skill level.

The balance however is never truly achieved, as many 1600 people leave, thus withdrawing their points from the system. So 1500 MMR is perpetually higher than the average level of a newcomer.

Unintended consequence of this process is the 1500-1600 wall, where you from one side get completely fresh seeds, and to advance have to defeat with them seasoned 1600+ (people who stayed and continued playing PvP for its own sake after receiving the 1600 reward).
