Herd mentality and a desire to appear cool and original despite the fact that everyone and their maiden aunt’s pet dog seem to do the same? The sort of people who think Wolverine as Weapon X was cool, and Professor Xavier was Cool as Professor X, whilst missing the cardinal point. Those characters were cool, Whereas Illidanlolx makes it look like you were having a seizure whilst naming your character (whaaat, I’m epileptic, I can make that joke :smiley: )

Basically lack of originality and the sort of cretinism that used to see ‘hip’ TV presenters trying to be down with the Kids in the 90’s constantly misspelling words like “Yoof” and “Kool” without realising that most people, including the demographic they were patronising, just thought they were blithering idiots…

Because you can’t have 2 unique names on the same server. That kinda sux. So you gotta add something cool to it.

It used to be a thing around MOP to have variations of swag and yolo at the end. Those people were always my first targets in BG’s :smiley:

godx,lol,x,watchme…,best/worst etc are names copied from famous pvp players . drainergodx, mirlol, watchmeblink, bestworld , anotherx . i think there might be some overlap with other esports games with stuff like xd and qt.

I often wonder why there’s a lot of Deathknights that put ‘dk’ at the end of their name. Is it because they think no one can tell they’re a Deathknight or are a lot of them from Denmark ?

xd in general is a blight upon humanity and needs to be purged with righteous fire. It’s the Ugg boot of the emoticon world.

And no amount of skill can make the -god suffix look good. It just makes you look like even more of an insufferable person. Especially with the addition of the expression of noughties angst -x on top :wink:

I remember them.

The players with qts that had goggles mogged on them for some reason i dont understand.

Usually high arena rating.

They usually came to me and started a duel. I beat them most of the time despite being at 0 ratings and they lost it.

Their excuses were ”i didnt use cds” or just put me on ignore while still whispering me stuffs.

I guess they all went horde, playing hard to master pvp classes like destro warlock, resto druids, fire mage or havoc dh.

‘kappa’ is dumbest of them all, as the word is similar to a word that translates to my language and is like ‘large wooden jar you pour your ale into’. While I can almost forgive it to random people, then it is truly moronic, when people from my country use it.

Also is also similar name to a location in my country make it even dumber. Since in slang its used as ‘random degenerated place on earth’

And 1:1 spelling it is something you tell for your horse to move faster; or in slang for someone to move somewhere.

In other words for me it is silly because of … silly.
