PvP Playerbase was Healthy/fine for wow standards until Shadowlands Season 4 when they capped the mmr in Arena, to make Gladiator and pvp Rewards in generall more Rare.
The Main Problem is more likely, that the community want free rewards since sl ssn2
also the implementation of Solo shuffle, Battleground Blitz, while still having the old Lfg System for 2v2/3v3 Arena
Worse Rewards than in the Past, worse class Balancing especially Healer
Meta/class designe being unfun, too complex for many Players/especially New Players
i would say the main issue is more likely
- Healer Balance
- (why queing 2v2/3v3 when u que solo what gives almost the same rewards)
- Classes are over bloatet, too many micro cc /gap closers escape utility /defensive cd´s are too short.
- rewards are terrible compared to the past.
- outdated Lfg / no Rewards for 2v2
Dont know if its intended but there is also this that keeps you in combat even after you left somebody with rupture on, you can go stand 40y away from him and watch the dot tick there and it will keep you in combat. I think in general they have dropped the ball at some point. The game is bit peculiar on more things than one.
Oh god, love wait 20 min ques to play the game for 1700mmr, then to get one lobby to begin and end for random reason after I get out from loading screen before even first round begins, then back wait another 20min to play the game 40min later. Peak gaming with shuffle. Blizz dont seem to have any clue what they are doing for pvp in general. At this point I would gladly go back to shadowlands and put dragonflight and tww in the past as failed experiments.
I remember back in the Day when I started pvp, being a 2k player meabt you were really good, you know about Dr, what a setup is and how to play dĂŠfensive when needed.
Now you see gladiator doing triple Dr stun over and over, and doing weird stuff like chasing behind a pillar while ignoring your mate or you healer positioning and trading cd poorly.
Sad but I think bfa s4 and sl s2 have done an insane dmg to the pvp community, and ofc shuffle/blitz.
Now 1.6 player per season from arenas from shadowlands example is 2.8k rating and gaining achievements as duelist/elite first week of season queing blitz which is not even arenas. The meaning of rating and all achievements have changed quite drastically cause this. At this point I doubt anyone knows what they are doing or what is the plan for pvp in general at the blizz hq.
Rupture doesnât keep you in combat. Singular focus keeps you in combat when any dot ticks.
did they do something similar to freezing trap? im in a hunter trap with random dots on me and some guy bladestorming next to me and it doesnât break
and b4 someone says it, no it wasnât diamond ice. it feels very similar to fear damage threshold that warriors have with that one talent that basically turns it into a 3 second stun
Ok so when we play deathstalker now and rupture something for 32 seconds and marked target running for +50 seconds we wont be able to stealth for this entire duration while singular focus is ticking dmg somewhere, I wonder if this is truely intended or an oversight from blizzard.
Seems bit peculiar we can stand 40y away out of harms way and waiting to go out of combat so we could press stealth but we are unable to use stealth, sometimes even for 30 seconds time. That certainly seems like a bug or oversight on design. Some dmg from dots no matter what they proc should not keep rogue in combat for over 30 second duration or its another failure in design for this tww.

I play fate in 2s purely due to this but yes basically. You can get a quick restealth but will instantly get subterfuge. In SS I imagine its less of an issue
Noticed it in Blitz, prevents you from getting stealth all the time
