Lol, same, and I keep forgetting to write a weakaura that plays a submarine diving klaxon or something the first time a whisper comes in… Once I finally notice it it´s fine, but I´ve been known to respond to them like 2 hours after they came in
Moving whispers and bnet conversations to their own separate window helped me in that regard since the game leaves that pane flashing as long i have anything unread. Guild chat is one that i definitely can miss though when doing M+ or arena if i don’t remember to check my separate chat window for any missed messages.
Yeah whispers have their own box and flash but I don’t notice it and people are often offline by the time I do.
Tbf I’ve always been dreadful with in game chat. I’m playing the game, I tend to get engrossed in what I’m doing.
I think I just enjoy the game too much and end up in my own little world.
That’s when you know the gaming’s good at least.
I’m just not great at replying on the fly when doing something that requires my attention. Does leave me apologising to my friend if i missed a message in guild chat at times since it’s just a 2 person guild.
I only notice whispers or tells in ffxiv just because there is a loud sound when you receive them
In wow they mostly go unoticed
I can vouch for it .i waived you hand while you were in orgrimmar the other day when you were on your mount .even slapped your character but you didnot notice
Dunno, sounds like a guild problem tbh.
We always greet one another when someone comes online, or member clearly state in gchat they’re about to log off when doing activities.
And we use Discord too, yet never seem to “miss” a gchat message.
There are always exceptions, of course, but when 95% of the guild doesnt bother it makes for a lonely existence.
I dont feel saying hello/bb is too much to ask for. But hey, i must be old fashioned.
It’s not old-fashioned, it’s called common courtesy.
This. And that’s entirely on blizzard’s fetish of having to increase encounter difficulties “to outperform addons” and “make the game intersting to new (young) players” - when in fact most wow players are aging veterans whose reflexes are growing slower.
Yeah, what about those who don’t want to play a game of reading timers in addons and prefer to play the game as it is? What about social guilds who had low skilled players carried by skilled ones? No longer possible because if one of the low skilled players gets targeted by a mechanic, they’re just gonna wipe the group nowadays, because devs thought the game would be too easy otherwise.
All that did was destroy social guilds and push people into seeing other group members as “sources of failure” instead of “nice helpers”.
I’m so sorry!!!
It’s even worse with this cold too I notice even less
have a .i am going through cold and flu too since yesterday
Doesn’t mean WoW is where we go to socialize, and no, everybody isn’t always up for talking
It’s all changed my friend, perhaps to mirror the way that society is becoming? I started playing in Vanilla and over the years I have been a member of quite a few guilds, always a pleasure to log on and have a chat with people I had really got to know, we even met up one time in Amsterdam, people from all over Europe. As time passed, the guilds all tended to disband, people got older, got married, had children, work issues and so times changed as did the social attitude of players. I haven’t joined a guild now for several years, prefer to play solo in this current climate. Remember when you playing, people would come to your assistance if you were struggling, people would give you a buff if they were passing and often strike up a conversation? no more, it’s not just WOW it’s the same with other games and in real life to some extent. You youngsters would probably not have experienced the game 20 years ago, I am old and it all goes over my head these days although I still enjoy solo play…
agreed those days are long gone and lost .apart from very few people most people like to create problems and hindrances for others and somehow get pleasure from it .
You really are!
I’m sorry, I know I’m bad
