Guys I remember there was once an NPC Called Swifty

I still find it so droll that just unproven accusations are enough for others to happily wash their hands off any association with the accused.

It seems karma might have gotten back to the blizz after that.

Did blizz not deem swifty guilty by removing his npc by accusations in my opinion of a crazy person! what goes around comes around.

Yeap they did, but we are better than that.

Not really, wall of text usually means saying way more than is required. There is a saying in my language which roughly translates “pouring from empty into full of holes” (as in pointless). Also, no need for insults.

Yes yes, we know you are better than the rest, doesnt mean others cant have their opinion without you showing how “wrong” they are.

If someone new voiced Kael in future patches, there is no problem with that. But replacing ALL the VO he did in past, that is not good. And im pretty sure there are various NPC’s that had their voice changed over years, but they didnt remove old versions.

You are missing the point. Its not about him getting the job. Its about his work being completely erased.

Everyone knows what was happening and its all fine if work is paused during legal cases, until its resolved. Can also hire new VA for new patches if needed, but removing all old work shouldnt be normal, when he was found not guilty.

Are we really?
As much as I try to keep a cool head over the recent news, I cant help but feeling spiteful in place of all the people they threw under the bus for much less evidence than what is now used against them

Don’t bee too upset. Anyone else would have done exactly the same without hesitation. Blizzard isn’t special or unique. They function exactly as the rest of the world does.

The only little difference is the 2 years of investigation by the state, what led to a lawsuit, because the systematic and contionous trampling of human rights. Meanwhile, the blizzard employees confirm the same, actually more and more of them every hour.

Now that seems kinda Hypocritical
based on the current stuff that is going down.

The swifty npc got unfairly removed cause of allegations similar to which Blizzard is going through, basically harassment: which never really took off and Blizzard basically did collateral damage and covered their steps and immediately removed the NPC when any amount of traction whether it was true or not surfaced.

I don’t believe it was true if I’m not mistaken either, this is America: shoot first, prove their innocent later.

I dont know how it works in the US. But an investigation and subsequent proceedings only means that Cali feels they have enough to go to court and believe they can win. (It is how the Crown Prosecution Service works in the UK)

It is up to what ever legal system they have in Cali to decide if they are. quilty.

We should be shocked by the allegations, but we should not pass judgement until the legal system does.

This is my ‘better than Twitter’ point.

HOWEVER being guilty in court and being a holes are different things, Blizzard clearly have /had employees that fall in the latter category.

I worked for several years in the justice system, not exactly in Caifornia tbh, but in a very similar one. I can tell you with 100% confidence, that the state doesn’t shoot at innoccents with at least 58 points (what I read until this moment) of human rights violations, especially doesn’t do it against such a huge company, what pays billions of dollars as taxes. The only question for me is when will it turn into a criminal case with identified, named suspercts. To me personally, it is not a twitter-level gossip anymore.

Completely agree (if this was in the Uk, the area I do know about) then they wouldn’t publish such allegations without a pretty solid belief they’d hold up in court.

BUT until they do, we should hold the high ground and refrain from passing judgement, allow the courts to do so.

Legally, the court has the last word ofc., but morally, I have more than enough proof to decide to not touch their products until they rework the whole management. Very disappointing things turned out in the past years around Blizzard and I, for one, judged them already in a moral sense.

I’m more of the view that boycotting Blizzard will hurt the innocent. To be honest, if we all boycott Blizzard the very people we seek to protect will lose their jobs etc. I prefer the courts to jail (hopefully) /fine etc the guilty and hope (I know) that Blizzard will improve their practices.

Nieve Maybe, but I need to cling to that. But I will want evidence of change, not hearsay, not token women in position, real evidence from within that this is now different.

They have a chance to shine from this dark time, to be that ‘rainbow’ they claim to be
 show us.

What better disguise?

Protect only the inner circle. Publicly shame anyone who acts in a way that you know society considers unacceptable but you and your buddies will close ranks and pretend nothing is going on when you want to act that way anyway.

Pretty sociopathic really. No fear of doing wrong, only fear of being caught.

There’s already many names of aggressors being posted on twitter. Lots of employees are speaking out. I sure hope some of them will be charged.

This can be a valid point too, but I personally believe in the power of the financial boycott. Why? Because the top of the mountain is not the blizzard’s high management, nor the activision, but the shareholders. They decide who can lead their company, and if they loose money on the current leaders, they gonna replace them with people, who can properly handle their money. They would never discard such a famous brand name, or the company, BEFORE they try to reboot it. I genuinely believe in this.

I think that it will get into the police’s, or prosecutor’s horizon soon and they gonna charge them in next weeks, because those were actual crimes, are offences prosecuted ex-officio. We’ll see.

wait, you guys got me confused now. are you talking about the BC kaelthas voice acting or the one in castle narthia? because when I came back recently after 4 months I noticed his voice lines changed, so this isn’t some old contract from decades ago, unless I’m misunderstanding something
