[H-Initiative] The Orgrimmar Weekly Brawling!👊 [Next Date: Soon™️]

It’s Official

The Orgrimmar Brawl Night is starting up and it will be starting with a mini test on; 17th October 2024!

What is the Brawl Night?

The Orgrimmar Brawl Night is a bi-weekly occuring casual event that allows all characters that are Horde Aligned to come along and participate in the Brawling Competition near the Wyvernn’s Tail in the Valley of Honor.

So with the Brawl Night happening we have a hope and belief that it will give people a reason to return back home and to actually bring that RP back to the City.

How does it work?

The Brawl Night works similar to any brawl that you happen upon in random RP.
Generally you will use the standard motiv of d100 and whoever scores higher will indeed manage to make the blow or defence. With a twist of natural 100’s scoring a Critical Strike and dealing 2 DMG rather than the trade of 1 DMG between eachother.

Contestants will have 4 HP each per brawl so it is not too quick nor too long whilst giving optional timing for people to partake and watch.

Once you have won your brawl the next challenger will enter the arena and then they will fight the person who has just won their previous brawl.

It goes on until there is one person standing and whilst it may seem unfair that it is a battle of attrition fret not for the actual Winner is not who is last standing but who stood the longest!

Why?

The reason being to make the Brawl Night is to hopefully aid in reviving Orgrimmar as a hub that people can travel to in the expectance that they can get some good and decent Casual RP just like they used to do pre-BFA saga.

Orgrimmar for a while has been a steady decline and most recently in Shadowlands - Dragonflight it was an absolute wasteland. Not only did it have some issues here and there but it also was just neglected as the Community opted to the ever opening roads before them and just had no reason to ever look back home.

With this brawling event it is hopefully a minor and easy thing but it’s also something that will give the individuals, the guilds and others to return to Orgrimmar.

Start your stories again back home by joining a Warband, Guild or other type of group whilst enjoying some good Casual RP, some brawling action and a nice topping of banter.

Orgrimmar is the City of Warriors and the Heart of the Horde whilst the fortress that it is, isn’t ideal. It is still our capital and a place that the Horde really mixes it’s cultures and calls home.

I would definitely swing by on my Bleeding Hollow orc and check it out if the schedule allows for it.

Was planning to organise my own Brawl tournament, but maybe better to put our tails behind this one, seeing you took charge :3

I love this idea. I am always down to beat people up in Orgrimmar. Although Fridays usually taken by guild stuff i’d come along when I can.

Definately favouring a Thursday (Friday’s are event nights). But you could always rotate the days ^^

Well I’m more than open to doing Thursday or Fridays myself.

I did realize that most guilds will probably partake in events on Friday’s so maybe Thursday is a plausible shout for everyone.

I’ll go through it all officially and reupdate the OP after tonight so I can take in more thoughts, views and the likes!

Appreciate everyones shout outs!

Very much appreciated and will happily work alongside it. Who knows maybe the Moonlit Sandfox want to offer some kind of sponsorship for the fighters or the likes. :handshake:

As for OOC planning and stuff somedays I might be busy so it’s always great that hopefully whilst this initiative starts with me (and you lot here!) it will not end with me having to push it forward and people might naturally come along and make it their own thing.

:dracthyr_blob_dance_animated:

Definitely up for discussing, and more than happy to lend our support if you need extra hands/paws to get things done.
Fridays will be tricky, as that’s our social raid day, but we’ll see how things work out!

Seems Thursday is a hot shot so far!

An yeah honestly friend feel free to run what you may with it.

The idea I have for this is that people can just walk up, sign up and get involved.

Whoever has been fighting and the most wins end of the night gets their pay!

Can definitely get a bit more ironed out and smoothed in it’s more just a general push for things.

Any questions or want to chat about it just slide me a message in game or on discord; Scuffather0 :sunglasses:

I have a goblin who will definitely try to make money out of the Brawl and a drunk ex-kor’kron orc lady who will either kickbutt or plant her face in the mud. Can do two ways XD but I would definitely be interested in brawling mehehehe >:D

Come one come all, only thing people would need to do is just speak to a representative to get involved and fight!

I’ll put you down as a favoured fighter for bets. :memo:

Wrong.

More like get in a locker.

More initiatives to bring the Horde RPers together is always welcome. I may slither past on someone when things occur.

Definitely this my friend!

The case is this is a lot more casual and just ‘easy-going’ than any real big push or properly organized thing it’s a case of we host this on a Thursday or Friday maybe even Saturdays when people aren’t busy! Who knows!

Plus, everyone loves to stand about and watch a good brawl or participate them it’s easier for our monkey brains to jump up and down at to slither over.

A two for one, get some people polishing up the ye’ olde’ writing skills and the fate of dice gods as well as giving people a reason to approach over and start chatting with the people around them even if it is a simple; “Who’s winning?”

It’s more just a case of one size fits all that will help hopefully aid in bringing people back to the Valley and rebuilding our little hub because eventhough many people dislike Org as a hub or have too many scarred memories from it.

Much has changed and nobody uses it now making it a wasteland other than the odd RP’ers trickling in and about trying to find that good casual Rp!

The Valley has everything one might need; A barracks, a pub and a nice hill to brawl ontop as well as a little river view what’s not to love!

I have the grandeur (delusion) hope that the Valley may be filled with some guild banners on the side-walk of the dirt road and the many people all huddled up in the many pockets of the porch, waterfall, river-view and the likes! (again)

The monthly market night in Orgrimmar might be a chance to grad additional rewards as well. A keg of imported brew, a free meal from a vendor at the next market night, potions or crafting reagents.

Perhaps a tad bit of self promotion for it on my end, but it certainly helps encourage people to go and see the other re-occuring Horde events ^^

Appreciate all the love, bants and laughs so far on the post!

Just to add on the way the brawling will work will just be as simple as anything else.

A case of you /roll and whoever gets higher manages to defend or attack the opponent.
In the case you get a nat 100 you will be giving a Critical Strike that deals 2 DMG.

Brawlers will have 4 HP to keep things not too quick but not too long either if the dice favours either side or gets stuck in a loop.

That is the guideline I’m thinking of putting down between fighters if other fighters have a preference to what they want to do with their fellow contestant / opponent then they can do so. I know a lot of people tend to use d20 for some brawls and the likes.

Though for a general consensus the usual and normal route might be the best in this case.

Seeing that it’s garnered a lot of interest I am hoping to start off the Brawling tournaments in a couple of weeks. The Ashen currently has a few things going on IC but if anybody else wants to take up on that initative and start then you’re more than welcome to.

The general time that this event can be held will probably be from peak onwards so maybe around 20:00 Server Time people can start their first brawls and then others can partake / join as the night goes on.

Granted there will be no “official” closing of the brawling the person by the end of the night (Let’s say 23:00 Server) that has won the most brawls will be declared the winner of the Orgrimmar Brawl Night with their reward of Five gold coins and a lot of free drinks over the weekend on the behest of the Ashen’s sponsorship!

If there is a mutual tie let’s say Rokamo and Zeep have both won 3 brawls. They will have a main event of a brawl and if neither one has time OOC they will take a split of the prize being that as a joint 1st they will take 2g 50s.

It might seem janky at first but that’s usually what everything is until you get a nice general flow of things and see how it rolls on. The parameters of time (Beginning & End) can be shifted as the Community feels and wants, etc.

Oh I’d likely not be a contender due to work taking up 90% of my time, but I’d win.
