It was good to be back roleplaying again after a long absence! The event tonight was fun, Raz got his groove on again!

From culling quilboar to cleaning up the entire rest of the Barrens, it’s busy days for the clan! Great choice for a summer job, so sign up as a Barrens janitor today!
We are dire need for more healers
I can’t healnthe clan all ony lone some!
If you can dream it, you can do it Thundertaker! Though our predilection for not wearing armour on our torsos (or shirts) might be making your job slightly harder than it strictly speaking has to be…
Real orcs don’t wear armor…they take the hit, and then hit back harder
jokes aside it is really good to see the that guild is still around.
The Clan is has joined their allies in the Ashen Bulwark to an island to gather treasure and supplies for their coffers and the Horde!
Will they succeed? What or who will they meet? Perhaps the island is filled with ogres, saurok or troggs? OR MURLOCS!
Let us hope they all earn a new scar and tale before heading elsewhere.
It’s almost time for a certain festival season again! Meanwhile, the clan is wrapping up its business in Pandaria.
still remember yee on DB XD GAhh I feel old
I spot a very stealthy Bleeding Hollow orc in the tall grass behind Dreadhollow ![]()

- Freak.
Thank you for the kind words, Freaky. <3 I had no idea you were still hanging around in the game!
Unfortunately though, as of two weeks ago I’m no longer a part of Orcs of the Red Blade myself. I haven’t been able to find myself to make an announcement for it up to this point simply because it hurts to leave a fifteen year project that I’ve been working on behind, let alone in such a manner. And not just a project, but a memory, a dream and a life.
Those who were regularly in contact in some form or another with the guild may have already noticed for some time that I wasn’t really all that active in the game itself as of late. This was due to a number of factors that can be summed up in real life taking over a lot of my attention and not having enough incentive to actively return to any in-game activities for the time being. However, the final straw admittedly came when it became clear to me that the guild had become something that I simply could not in my right mind condone.
People always come and go. But throughout the years that I was active in WoW and ORB, I knew I could always enjoy the company of at least some familiar faces and friends. It was this security that ensured the guild was always a welcoming place to me, even in the event that I had to shift my priorities from WoW to real life before coming back to that same old campfire besides the same old faces.
This led me to believe that ORB was more than just an in-game guild for roleplaying activities and interactions; it was a community of friends, in some cases even family (literally or figuratively). No matter how invested you were in the game or roleplay, even if you found yourself disillusioned by the state of WoW as many of us no doubt felt every now and then, the community was always there to stay in touch with you. At first on Skype and the guild forums, later on Discord or even through other games and MMOs. There were times that this resulted in reconnecting with former members some ten years after their last sign of activity within WoW itself, as shown in our reunion threads for our 10- and 15-year anniversaries, for example.
Unfortunately, recent changes made on the guild’s Discord led me to believe that these principles can no longer be pursued in the same manner as before and that the guild has intrinsically become something different from how I envision it myself. Perhaps one day our paths will cross again, as they have countless times in the past with old members I thought long gone, but unfortunately I cannot bring myself to comfortably enjoy a community in which some of my oldest friends are being split up like this despite plans to return for Dragonflight myself. Although with the direction the guild’s community was heading, such a rendezvous seems less likely to happen as well.
And so, as a result, I no longer feel welcome in my own guild.
A guild that was a part of me for almost half my lifetime, for that matter. It truly does hurt, considering I did not imagine this fifteen year long stint to end like this. But the friends and memories will always be there to stay. And that’s something I aim to fully keep intact, whether it will eventually be as a member of the guild or as some rambling, ostracized leper in a forgotten cave.
I’ll be on Discord on the handle Kozgugore#2125 for anyone that wants to get back in touch. And for anyone that doesn’t, that’s cool. Just take care of yourselves. <3
We’re really grateful Kozgugore for all the memories you’ve helped create and I am sorry you felt you needed to walk away from the guild that those memories were made within. But those memories for most members stopped being made easy as far back as two years ago or longer and as with most guilds, things do change and a disconnect from the people still actively part of the thing that was built did happen as the community developed. It is a shame that matters couldn’t be worked out between yourself and the rest of the community.
If you would like to talk more about this maybe a Discord message Koz? That door is always open to you and you would be welcomed back if you wished to be. Some changes are already under discussion and we’d love to see you back <3
I mean I was there when the restart campaign happened, when the guild came to Argent Dawn. Some strange Chieftain with a big brown wolf hat and a whole pack of Guardian clan spirits needed saving, that’s what brought me into Red Blade. Since that time much has happened and in the very most recent years I’ve been helping officer the guild - for the last three years in fact, it is one of those places worth fighting for and certainly a guild that won’t be disappearing any time soon.
For anyone worried about what this means for the guild?
Well actually the community has had a rough week or so there is no way to deny it, can’t say that it was pleasant either but it’s going to keep going, we’re on campaign at the moment and have some exciting stuff being planned for Dragonflight when that arrives.
I wouldn’t want anyone reading this thread to think that Red Blade won’t be carrying itself forward. It’s a great roleplay community both in game and outside of it with a history of adventure spanning well over 16+ years and it’s going to keep having them.
So our heartfelt thanks to Kozgugore for all the time and effort he put into this guild that we love, we hope you know how important you have been. We look forward now to sharing the coming adventures as the Red Blade continues strong into the new expansion.
To make some things abundantly clear;
You are absolutely right that he helped create them, and those memories, the circumstances of them and the friendships and trust built up within those memories are not yours to piggyback off of. What you have is not just a disconnect within a community. It is a disconnect from the things that made us go strong for all those years, and from the people who made those years happen. You have actively pushed those people away.
The core of what made the Red Blade in to just that has been, since my start in it 7 years ago, and since the start of a sizeable chunk of people who came before me, the fact that history and community, opinions and thoughts and ideas despite activity level were cherished because it made people feel welcome, both new and old members. It kept people happy with the community, and despite dwindling interest in the game and RP it was the community that made players who had been inactive for well over a decade keen on returning, and new players who had never even considered touching a TRP profile with a 10-foot stick join. You seem to have missed that core value entirely.
Instead what you did was create a quite frankly hostile environment for all of those older members. You dismissed the concerns that kept inactive members from returning and opted to softly reboot the guild behind closed doors and carry on the name. Just like you are dismissing Kozgugore’s words right now. “Heartfelt thanks for X, y and Z. Anyways…”
I took a 9-month break from WoW and RP entirely to pursue my dreams and career, fully intent on returning at the time, but seeing what I had to return to put me off it. This isn’t just a gut feeling, it’s a genuine observation by one of many in what’s been affectionately nicknamed the “Old Guard” about the environment you’ve developed.
The guild you lead is Orcs of the Red Blade only in name. No matter how strong you go in to the future. ![]()
As someone who has worked with Verzan and Rykana and is also a member of Red Blade, I will say that if that is the case, then perhaps we were Red Blade in name only for the last two years, when it was only Verzan and Rykana who kept everything going whilst the other officers had IRL commitments to tend to. This is not a slight against them for having IRL commitments, but it is a slight that you have come out of the woodwork to be nasty towards people who’s only crime was doing the best they could and did so with the GM’s blessing, which only changed a couple of months after the changes were made.
I am sad that it has come to this, however ORB will always have mine and BP’s support, and my DMs are open for those I once worked with who would like to talk things over.
Who asked though?
