[H-RP] The Beastmaw Warband - Pyrates Ye Be Warned

Change my mind: the Beastmaw is the only Horde guild that could take the swolekin of Bastion on in a powerlifting competition and win. :muscle:

Hi Beastmaw Warband,

I used to be in the Earthfury clan for many years, many years ago! I’d love to reconnect with you guys now that the restrictions have been lifted and I can have B-Tag friends from other regions, and to be able to join their group events now as well.

So, if you guys are interested ( I think I see some familiar faces), please reply here or add me on B-Tag directly in case I miss your post.

Hu Torakk, I think I was wrong, They’re still rolling out these changes apparently and after further reading, I found that it’s still in its starting stages, still being tested, I just tried joining the link from a Horde toon and it said I couldn’t redeem it. If one of you are willing, add my B-Tag and we can check if I can get invited to your groups, to see if it’s possible to come to events .

Story update time!

Despite the threat of the mogu, the Beastmaw carry on with their service to the Horde. With the cube safely in the hands of the Beastmaw mystics, mainly the shaman Tokkra Wavecrest of late, the warband sails south. Scout reports of momentarily diminished Scourge activity had convinced them of an opportunity to briefly leave Warsong Hold and instead sail to Zandalar, therein mounting a hunting expedition with the goal of adding one more war beast to the menagerie.

A brutosaur.

During the trek through the thick Zandalari jungle, the Beastmaw encounter a naga in one of the rivers, the siren Althaea. Though most are hostile and mistrusting towards her, the naga is defended by Tokkra, who admits to having been consulting with her regarding solving the mysteries of the cube, which was apparently once in the hands of Althaea’s highborne ancestors. Still wary of her, the Beastmaw allow to join the expedition, provided that Tokkra responsibly holds her on a short leash.

The Collector had not been far behind either. First spotted during the voyage, manning a single-sail boat a full mile behind the Gorath’s Tide, the mogu later ambushes the Beastmaw in the jungle - first attempting to slay the naga, who claimed that he was a mutual enemy, and then targeting the expedition as a whole. His condition of leaving them alone is that they surrendered the cube to him. The Beastmaw refused. Using his trickery of potions and scrolls to enlarge himself, Henduo Jian confronted the whole warband. Though costly, the battle was won and the mogu fled having lost an eye to the crafty vulpera Nreesha who had already grown accustomed to his tactics.

A brutosaur is brought back in the end. Not the full grown beast of war Torakk had hoped for, but a hatchling who had recently lost its mother to the enlarged mogu. The Beastmaw had been stalking the small herd for a while, inadvertently drawing them into the mogu’s attention.

With the ship preemptively emptied in the anticipation of transporting a brutosaur, Gorath’s Tide now sails away from Zandalar still retaining most of its free space. But the Beastmaw do not make way back to Warsong Hold just yet.

Instead they sail to Westfall…

After a brief visit to Westfall, using the old mines as a back entrance (though having to deal with bandits, smugglers and gnolls camped within) and employing a glamour spell so as to resemble members of the Alliance, the Beastmaw performed a delicate infiltration of a human village with the goal of [REDACTED]. Successful, they then headed back to their current base of operation that is Warsong Hold, to resume their garrison in anticipation of more waves of feral undead.

The warband is in the midst of an underwater adventure! Chasing old Blue Dragon lore, urged by the warnings of our shaman, we sail into kaldorei-controlled Feralas to unearth a Highborne relic from naga-infested waters: a cauldron of supposed arcane power, which we debate whether to destroy or relinquish to the interests of the Reliquary. Decisions for later, however, as success does not yet seem certain.

The Highborne relic has been discovered - it was, in fact, an Arcane-corrupted hydra, locked away in an enchanted cauldron, that the Ancient Highborne had once inflused with magic, hoping to use the beast’s regenerative properties to multiply that power. One dead blue dragon and many dead elves later, the Highborne chose to seal it away, and so it remained in a vault beneath the sea until the day it was unearthed. Tokkra Wavecrest, respected shaman of the Beastmaw, fell battling that hydra, but the evil of the cauldron was vanquished and the now-spent item has been safely given over to the hands of the Reliquary.

The Beastmaw continue to maintain a garrison at Warsong Hold, while an expeditionary force sails to Pandaria to track down the lair of Henduo Jian, the Collector, whose severed head, reanimated with the Rod of Necromancy obtained from himself, trades clues for bargains so as to make easier his own troubled existence.

The mogu once stole possessions which we want returned, but we also chase rumours of items of power kept in his secret hoard, which might greatly aid the Horde in the fight against the rampant feral Scourge.

Greetings from the Hand of the Titans! We found a few of the Warband stationed at Warsong Hold, and they were kind enough to tag along on a banshee-filled adventure!

Good times, and good people in our allies of the Beastmaw Warband! For the Horde!

Story update, as it’s been a while!

A big portion of the Warband is currently waging an expedition in Pandaria, searching for the hidden lair of the Collector. So far, we have managed to get tangled up with a crew of pirates known as the Red Blossom, who caught wind of our quest and tried to deter us from the pursuit which they themselves shared. Smugglers and associates to the Pandaren black markets, they wanted the profit of Henduo Jian’s collection entirely for themselves.

Failing to keep a number of Beastmaw as prisoners, they engaged the warband in battle, in which the pirates’ lair was raided and their numbers dramatically thinned. Their officers were defeated, and their leader, Captain Jung-woo, slain. Not only did the Beastmaw manage to eliminate the competition, but they also recovered the deeds to the supposed Red Blossom fleet, hidden somewhere in a Krasarang lagoon. Though the smuggler fleet was little more than small sail boats, which the Beastmaw happily agreed to sell off to Pandaren fishermen, in their number was a sloop-turned-flagship, built for speed as well as stealth. That we decided to keep for ourselves, and renovate after the expedition’s end.

Chasing leads and Lorewalker-given mogu lore, the Warband now makes way for Townlong Steppes, and eventually the Thunder Isle itself where the Collector’s lair lies.

Henduo Jian’s lair is so close, I can almost hear him whispering when I stand near that bag on Snaggletooth’s harness. You know, that bag which is suspiciously head-sized.

Once again, we are back in Northrend! We’ve concluded our adventure in Pandaria, and reached the vault of the greedy mogu where we had fun with a huge, randomised loot table to determine what everyone gets from it. Unfortunately, we triggered a protective ward on the way in, which we could not disable, so we only had time to grab so much loot before the lair collapsed.

We now plan to participate in a part two of a Cartel Tournament plotline hosted by our very own Azukuni, though the Warband will also be maintaining an IC presence in Warsong Hold if anyone wants to reach out to us!

Our plotline in Stranglethorn continues, while the bulk of the warband remains in Northrend. Those at Warsong Hold have opted for long ranging missions to Agmar’s Hammer and back, so as to avoid the situation in the Hold where the garrison healers have cut off an entire wing, for a plague of some sort has spread among the troops. It has likely been brought back from the mogu’s lair in Pandaria, a sinister trap gone unnoticed until now!

Those at the Cartel Tournament, meanwhile, have experienced a streak of victories under the team name of “The Warbeast Charge”! Pardon the silly guild tabard in that regard, it is a temporary visual representation for the needs of that story. =)

I want to see those goblins spend thousands on new purple merch, only for us to switch back to the guild tabard again

The volunteering gladiators in Stranglethorn have come out victorious, earning the rewards of gold, magical items and the salvage rights to an old Horde Juggernaught for the Beastmaw. However, victory was not claimed before a daring rescue was mounted upon the corrupted participants in the tournament who had captured Koll and our own fights manager Ricket. While Koll was rescued, Ricket had been taken away, and the Beastmaw will very soon pursue to see their friend freed.

And to make up for the fact that I’ve been forgetful to post guild updates, here’s an excerpt from the Tome of the Beastmaw, held by the Warband Chronicler, that details a part of our sacred tradition - the Trial of the Hunt.
