This really. Name me a country that hasn’t done this at some point and I think we found the way to Utopia.
As for the US thread about unions, I do see alot of people dunking on that guy who is against them. Still, the fact that it has so many likes does show me that US people and us think different, despite both the EU and the US being Western.

Sure, but most of them also have the good grace to not act like the only Defender of the Free World, and all that rubbish…

Yeah most just generally brush it under the rug and pretend like it never happened.

Armenians? Dzungars? Why, there’s no mystery here young man - one day, they simply disappeared!
(also Blizz staff pls unionise <3 Like unions aren’t perfect & can be as flawed and corrupt as any other human institution but dang if we wouldn’t all still be working 26 hour shifts a day in the coalmines without em)
(also also the fact you had to Google search “Dzungars” just now to find out who they were is truly a testament to just how well China memory holed the whole thing)

If you think my uncle is on the side of unionising, you clearly haven’t been paying attention.
His golden parachute is on at all times.

In all fairness, if the U.S. were to suddenly vanish from the world stage, the only ones who could currently fill the vacuum are the CCP - who are infinitely worse. As much as we berate the Americans, we also kind of need them to stick around.
I do get where you’re coming from though, there are a lot of problems there.

Childhood is thinking the real world is Star Wars, with clear goodies and baddies
Maturity is realising it’s closer to Warhammer 40k

Actually, this is very off topic and it doesn’t feel right to start a big side trail in this thread, so… Post retracted.
Remember kids, this trainwreck has no breaks.

Rarely do you see a trainwreck gain momentum.

Some1 redpill me about this.
The woman who wrote out the corporate response to this scandal, who was part of the Bush administration as Elenthas said, wrote an article on why whistleblowing is bad.
Idk why people stand by for torture when it has been proven on both their own side and the opposing side to be ineffective. Unless you want to just make people suffer, then it is very effective.
As for this woman, it doesn’t surprise me. It’s not just a problem with the leadership, it’s with the company in general. These people are just so out of touch with what they are doing. Whether it’s developers who develop a game without ever even playing it and then gawk in surprise when their solutions aren’t liked, or by these corp-heads being so oblivious to the problem because nobody’s ever pulled them down to the level of a normal employee to see the suffering.
A lot can change once the boot is in the other foot. I for example suspect that Ghotscreeper won’t be working for Riot for a very long time anymore.

People talk about Townsend a lot (and rightfully so) but kind of neglect to mention the other guy that worked for the Trump admin who previously basically set up the legal framework that let Townsend defend it - who is now also on the Acti-Blizz board (and known by all of his coworkers as a massive bully, quelle surprise)

Nevermind the fact (I didn’t realise at least) that that law firm they brought in to ‘investigate’, who are actually Union busters?
Yeah, where did Ion work previously?
Hmmmm.
Not only that, but the company was historically known for defending Holocaust-profiteers.
Yes, the actual capital-N natsees.

Even more reason to hope they fail. Screw them.
