Heirloom scaling

It’s 30 Ilvls lower.

I agree with you. I just levelled up my character from 10 to 80, and heirlooms are not the same as it was before. After level 60, it worsened even further. I had to buy gear from AH, which has never happened before.

I think the person in charge of scale heirlooms probably doesn’t work at Blizzard anymore or does something different, and another person doesn’t have a clear understanding of how to implement heirloom scaling with each expansion.

And that’s wrong in my opinion. In the past Heirlooms were either BiS at each level or only surpassed by superrare epic equipment; not even blue equipment had more stats than heirlooms. Combined with the very high cost of heirlooms and the fact they have lost their perk of speeding up levelling, it’s absurd that they are not BiS.

Even without looms, you shouldn’t be getting squished, though there are a few mobs that have whacky scaling issues that will squash you regardless of what gear you have.

As I said, they are upgrade level 6/6 so this is not the case.

That may worth a bug report then.

Recently they did a scaling change for timewalking, so I would not find it impossible that they goofed up the heirloom scaling along with it.

That’s right in my opinion. It’s just boring, when you’ve solved gear problem once and for all. The WoW revolves around gear.

I’m glad they fixed it. Maybe it wasn’t that bad, when there were only a few heirloomed slots.

Heirlooms don’t have very high cost. Quite the opposite, they are very cheap. I think it’s around 200k gold for one character. You can buy token and buy gear for two characters. This is pocket change, not very high cost.

Pretty sure it’s up to 70, no upgrades to 80.

They were nerfed primarily because of people using them in BGs.

No reason not to tbh.

Has it always been like this, or did blizzard forget about heirlooms?

It’s always been like that, where heirlooms don’t span over current expansion’s levels… typically not till late into it.

For me that’s a lot more than pocket change .

But you haven’t solved it. From level 70 onwards you are gearing up in new content.

For those 200k to be “worth”, then the time you save by using heirlooms should be easily “converted” into those 200k (or more). If a player without heirlooms needs X hours of playtime to reach the level cap and the same player with heirlooms does it in Y hours, then these (X-Y) hours difference need to make up for the 200k cost. Right now, this (X-Y) figure is too small for any regular player to cover the cost.

They never should’ve changed them like this. And while I do not disagree it’s entirely too costly to upgrade them these days, you don’t have to use gold to upgrade them.
And while the event is soon to be over, you “only” need 600 burning blossoms to get one upgrade for armor/off-hand/trinket/ring/neck.

No, 70 atm

They used to be blue level, now they are below greens. But they are still convenient to level. You level so fast that keeping your gear up to level is almost impossible otherwise.
And they are good enough to battle most normal mobs. When I hit 70 I usually still have some lvl30 items on me.
I remember druids were a little squishy tho, By far the most vulnerable.
