We are still around. Has been for years now. I’m not sure how long exactly. It’s seldom any of us read the forums much less write here though. We do not have very many active players anymore and it has been ages since we did events and such but there’s a few of us who do casual RP every now and then in the cathedral. There’s an AA page and a disco and we do welcome anyone who would like to join people new to RP or old players returning alike.
I would be hyped if we could actually have a proper church guild that followed The Three Virtues of
- Respect
- Tenacity
- Compassion
most of the time they seem to fall into desu vult memes
We just need more Church RP at all the Light holy sites in Azeroth
I’m keeping away from Light worshipper RP because most of the Church guilds seem to have been poor villain RP that couldn’t take defeat. And I don’t really want to associate myself even remotely with anything like that.
I would think to make a new Church guild myself to man to holy sites…but without the Crusader guards.
I find it that most holy guilds do a take on a religion, not the power of the light, as long as its seen as a type of christianity, I won’t take part in it.
I like the name. I see you’re a man of culture as well.
You face Tasadaar, draenei-lord of the enlightened legion! Master of Artannis!
Sorry, this guild needs to be placed in a power field.
I’d like to try and start one but well Paladin not priest. :S
Also i just don’t think people can do the Church without ended up going in to the stupid “desu vult!” crap. but maybe having a GM that isn’t a priest would work as they can OOCly curb stomp such behaviour?
Or maybe have a guild that understands the tenants of the religion and not the Crusades or Christianity.
Plenty of reading material about the Church of Holy Light, The Draenei Faith, the Blood Elves views and the Sunwalkers ways.
Even the Church of Shadow of the Forsaken! Or the Loa of the Trolls
Hi there!
My guild may be what you are looking for.
Often it is our guild people refer to when they say “Lumen Vult” troll guilds. Unfortunately a lot of misinformation is spread. Often people making these claims I personally have never encountered and it’s not uncommon that rumors begin to live their own life on AD.
Our most notorious moments were when Emmanuel was the Bishop of our congregation. He was very traditional and indeed racist towards Void Elves and Death Knights. All In Character ofcourse. Within our guild we have clergy who hold different views. This is what makes Church roleplay so exciting and intriguing. Different interpetations on the virtues, the deity of the Light and our relations to the Alliance can make for many interesting discussions, teachings and conflicts.
We can be found in front of and inside of the Cathedral. Please do come by if you are interested! We are in great need of priests!
That you know of…
I have to throw in that he wasn’t disliked for any IC views. But instead of saying stuff about the lore in the forums, then someone asked for lore proof like his “death knights aren’t allowed to go in the cathedral square” and then he refused to give any and just answered “read up the lore”.
Though good luck without him! Looking forward to see some real church roleplay stuff.
Very true!
Do correct me if I am wrong, but we never attempted to keep DK’s out of Cathedral Square. I don’t think Emmanuel ever tried to justify a CS ban. We did keep DK’s out of the Cathedral for a time. But I honestly think that worked due to the assault on the Order of the Silver Hand during Legion.
He did though. Is a long time ago. His reasoning was some headcanon between the DK starting zone and the priest NPC who greets the void elf npcs. Even on void elves that would be headcanon.
If I remember right, they just kicked them all out of the Cathedral itself, as opposed to the entire square?
I am not sure about all the forum shenanigans. we never bothered enforcing such a ban ingame. So really it’s just empty words he was going on about then, if what you say is true.
Indeed! You are correct.
