Hot take: Healers who cannot handle big pulls should do follower dungeons

its P2W for the forum xD

Eh, I’d say that those ultra-big pulls, even though often very doable, should ALWAYS depend on the group. E.g. if you don’t have people interrupting the right abilities, use AoE-stuns, knockbacks, etc, etc, then just don’t even think about pulling half the dungeon because it’ll be just a pain in the behind for the others.

Communicating like actual human beings in 2024 WoW? How dare you.

How are these two related to each other? You are talking about keeping everyone alive, aka the entire group, I am saying that if a tank dies its certainly not always the healers fault and therefor a crappy rule to live by. Am I missing something?

Hotter take: People who can’t adapt or communicate, respect others time/effort, shouldn’t play group content.

If a healer is not able to handle it, look at the bigger picture of; why?
New? OOM? out of line of sight? etc etc.

Bellow average healer, is that you?

So much this! I dabbled into a couple DF dungeons with my baby holy pala earlier who has literally no movement enhancing abilities yet and I was paired with a DH tank. Yes the tank died. Yes I felt bad but by the gods it was not my fault they got the zoomies and literally left me in the dust with absolutely no way to catch up quickly!

Preach sister. That’s also fair. But groups usually opt-in for instant vote kicking rather than talking.

It is vastly outdated and haven’t been true for decades.

If the tank dies, maybe he pulled too many or don’t know how to use cd. not always the healers’ fault.

If the healer dies, maybe he doesn’t know tactic, undergeared, or just suck at healing, not the tanks’ fault.

If the dps dies, maybe because the tank can’t hold aggro at all, or the healer doesn’t dispel, can’t heal unavoidable damage. not their own fault.

This claim was false simplification coming from 20 years ago…

Your highest rating was 2881 mate. As a M+ main.

I only got better as a healer once I had those groups that went a little crazy and tested me. Let’s not make new or inexperienced healers convince themselves that if they struggle they need to quit, otherwise they’ll never adapt and overcome.

If things go wrong, ask why. We never improve if we’re made to feel the only resolution is to give up. We were all new once…

Is that supposed to be an insult or what? Good try, shame you failed, just like your healing :rofl:

You trying to pull the skill card. Your highest M+ rating isnt high as a M+ main all things considered.

Hot take: These dungeons have no time pressure and aren’t that hard. Work together, understanding one another’s capabilities, or leave and do follower dungeons yourself. You don’t get to arrogantly ban people from doing content they are capable of just because you think they’re slow.

And yet I heal just fine. Go figure. You’re just proving my point further. If I can do it, everyone can. Thanks for your support!
BTW Google the term skill card, I think you’re using terms you’re not really familiar with :face_with_hand_over_mouth: if you knew what it meant, you would not say I was pulling it.

Whether a pull is healable or not depends on the tank and dps.

All i can say is if you wanna try being a healer is that you really need to stay alert and you cant look away for a second because at the pace people are going these day you are gonna have a bad time. Im afraid this isnt some chill setting where you can stand and casting a few heals on spot and relax except when its boss fights then you can relax alittle sounds weird right? The trash packs are the real bosses

IMO it’s a lot more nuanced than “the healer can’t handle the pull”, especially if one is talking about random groups (it’s irrelevant to actual organised groups).

It’s a team/group effort, it’s not just the healer who has to be able to handle big pulls. Though many a time, the healer is able to cover other people’s shortcomings (and that’s a problem really, maybe we should stop doing that).

Many times (certainly not always) the tank, and a lot more often, the DPS, are completely oblivious to what’s going on around them - certainly as to the status of the other members of the group.

You called yourself a “seasoned healer playing on and off for 10 years now”. Your highest M+ rating isnt regarded high. You aren’t as good as you think you are.

You are complaining about the pace in heroic dungeons. Content that isn’t even aimed at you at all. While being under the false impression you’re any good.

Want to pull the way you want to? Get a premade.
