A mix between how the class skill feels to use, and the impact the generic covenant skill will have.
So for my Hunter, I really like my gameplay revolving around damage windows so Resonating Arrow fits perfectly. I also find Phial of Serenity to be the most useful to me on a moment-to-moment basis as I am already mobile enough to not really desire Soulshape/Door of Shadows.
I’m resto. Haven’t really read up on what powers are the best, as I just can’t deal with picking a covenant that doesn’t go with my class/racial theme. I will just have to trust Blizzarrd they manage to not mess the power balance up completely, and hope they split powers and RP next time they do a stunt like this.

I main a Night elf Druid, it’d feel wrong to go anything but night fae, thankfully it looks good for resto so there is no dilemma anyway.
My main alt is human paladin, again Kyrian looks right thematically so picking that and luckily it looks like a decent choice power wise anyway.

I looked at a spreadsheet and it told me what is best for each class/spec.
Sucks because I really wanted to go Venthyr… but I’m not going to handicap myself by forcing underperformance. I really want the PvP Elite set for leather, so every bit counts.
My rogue is going Kyrian because it has to.

No, I frikken hate Kyrian, but soulbinds/conduits/covenant ability is best for rogue rated PvP
