But I still have to run from the Auction house to the Mail Box. That’s where the advantage lies.
The advantage is in a 3 second walk? I have the AH mount and i am still mailing my stuff to my lvl 10 AH char in orgri. Seems more efficient to do all my AH’ing on 1 char instead of all different chars.
I 2 active AH toons at the moment. 1 for general Consumables that get cancel/relisted. This is where the AH mount would be useful to camp near a mail box, so you can cancel and relist quicker.
The other for longer term items, such as Crafted armor and BoE drops.
During SL I have had 3 total active AH/bankers. And I have 5 total bankers on my active server account. The other 3 now work as Storage for old world crafting mats (as I plan to level those Profs at some point), and unwanted Pets. Yes I have a banker full to the brim with unwanted pets.
Aside from the Pet Banker, all have been active sellers at some point. I feel it a good idea to change my identity from time to time.
Another case of “I didn’t buy it when it was available so now I want it” I say this with all my heart, tough luck, you can’t have it.

So, just because someone misses their chance to get something, no one else is allowed the item they most likely worked very hard on obtaining?
The vast amount of time some of us spent for was well over 300 hours of farming, probably the first time any of us even tried to farm such a huge sum of gold at all. If you managed to get it in time, you deserve it. Blizzard removing the mount would definitely be a big bummer and a quit-moment for many, as we’d be left with a sour taste of 5M lost in our mouth. So-called goblins don’t really care as it’s just another business loss, and they can recoup, but for everyone else, well, bye bye.
Advantage over others? Give me a break. Sure there are cases where you’d save miniscule amounts of time; if you are a goblin and play the AH then sure you get a small advantage over competition while cancel scanning, but it’s negligible with the right server, timing, and location.
The only other place you’d have a time save is where you’d be forced to hearth to a city to access the AH, in which cases you could simply just grab engineering and use MOLL-E to mail your loot over to a banker or items over to your toon for a similar result, wasting only the time it takes to swap characters, loot and send mail; nothing game-changing really.
Oh, and don’t get me started on the AH access in Oribos with engineering as well. Everything else can be planned around.
Nah, removing the NPC is not even an option, they should just let everyone purchase it. You could make use of the inflation and require players to buy a currency that adjust with the inflation to keep the pricing relevant.
Yep, they removed it. And no I didn’t get one. And I have even begged Blizz GMs to sell me one. I have the gold sat waiting for the next big cash drop come along.
If you play the auction house, you’ll understand how important that few seconds can be. Cancel/relist is the game at the moment, so if you can do it at that speed, you can stay on top.
Everyone could purchase it a year ago, only minority did. People who couldn’t do it then and can do it now is hundreds at best

IIRC, the AH in Pandaria’s shrines are like any other faction restricted AH, and the mailbox is right next to it. The only thing is that you need to grab engineering, which is perfectly fine to have on a banker. Yes, they still work, simply park your designated AH slave there then use a mailbox toy of your choice to send your banker stuff you have farmed for your stock.
For horde, if you stand next to the pole in-between the mailbox and the AH, you can literally sidestep and move your mouse between the mailbox and AH in the same amount of time it would have taken you to move the mouse from the AH mount to a mailbox. If you’re alliance, I believe the mailbox and the AH is right next to each other as well. The mount is a negligible time save for playing the AH, like I mentioned.

go engineering and pop a moll-e/katy next to the AH bot if you really want to save those 3 seconds.

I am sure I have seen a Brutosaur on the auction house during 9.1, if not 9.1.5. And I have seen 2 during the course of the expansion.
And Garrison auctioneer is also still available. I have it on 2 chars, very handy.
