Have? Many. Play? Maybe 1.
The question is what the goals are of those alts. I got previous season 4 chars with minimum KSM, 1 with 3000 score. It was at least 1 char for every role.
This season i just rerolled to this char, which was my alt brewmaster, and basically only need more crests/flightstones. I am doing on my old main a weekly key and just have set up my new tank (guardian) alt. Still wondering what my dps-alt will be. But i am sure i will get to levels where i have fun playing those chars They will get less optimizing than my main, of course.
I don’t really.
I never bother gearing them up, because my alts usually just serve a single purpose. Whether that’s farming a particular drop or doing one more mission table or whatever. If I actually want to play content, I’ll play my main.
i play 4 atm.
I keep this priest and another geared. Any alts I make are for casual PvP. I’m finding Assassination Rogue pretty fun, and I’m also enjoying leveling Mistweaver at the moment.
I only have alts to have proffesions plus a few more to tru a new class
Havent touch them since df…the least alt proffesion expansion yet imo…
If i could i would have all professions on my main
I have 53 , I play usually around 18-19 on a weekly basis
I have all classes at 70 on both Alliance and Horde , I try to have one of each playable race.
I only raid and key push on 1 toon my ret paladin. I tend to change class each raid tier /season to keep things lively and different. I was a mage in S2 , preservation evoker in S1.
Also have 3 druids on hi pop realms for gold making only.
Still got a few to lvl up like this shammy who’s been stuck in bfa for almost 3 years now lmao
I’m the kind of person who rerolls multiple times per expansion. I’ve played since WOTLK, and for real, I’ve probably had over 70 different mains now. Yes. Really. I’ve held and played up to 3 accounts in total now. 1 acc has 50 chars, I couldn’t create more… so I deleted some… made new etc. until I got my second account. I’ve got about 40 characters in total on that account. On my 3rd, I’ve got about 25 I think it is now?
Now, I don’t play them all and push all max level every new expansion. But I’ve managed to push about 30-40 chars to max level each expansion since MOP at least.
On a high end, I usually play about 5-15 characters on max level and push end-game content. Mainly, I just do like a weekly m+ for vault on some characters, or PVP on them a bit.
It’s not like “oh damn, you spend 200 hours per week on WOW?!”. Really, it takes like 20-30mins to do 1 m+ per character. Just use your own key, make a group and go rush it, then go next. I usually end up really “pushing” on 2-4 characters in the end. Rest are just to keep up-to-date if meta changes heavily.
pfft…per realm
i HAVE to have alts, i need to run all my own professions, pride (and an empty purse)won’t allow me to pay auction house prices
I have like 3 mains that I use and over 20 alts all on the same Realm, but I don’t let that take over my time.
I have 2 mains on the Horde and 1 main on the Alliance because I like to experience the story on each side.
Its a nice option too because sometimes I feel like ‘playing this class’ or ‘I need to craft a leather piece.’
They aren’t as geared up as my main, but they’re max leveled and at least geared enough to do things like LFR.
The best time to level up Alts is waiting for Time walking, Darkmoon buff and/or a EXP event, like what we had back in… October I believe was the Time Event?
Don’t feel pressured about making too many alts or no alts at all. Play how you want to play.
How do you feel about Paladin ? I’ve got one at 70 and I do enjoy it a lot, VFX are nice and the rotation is cool, not too stressful.
If the sub-specs are interesting enough, I may end up making that one my main (looking at Herald of the Sun, if it has a lot of fire VFX/abilities, I’ll be 100% sold on it).
I’ll try to keep that in mind, got a few alts I still need to get to max lvl !
A Paladin Tauren was actually my first character. XD I love the Paladin class. Since Vulperas can’t be Paladins, Warrior was the next best thing for me.
Yah. You get more EXP completing a Time Walking Dungeon then Regular LFDs.
I’m at five and I think more would become incredibly time consuming. Especially if you take professions into account…
1 main and 35 alts that i do the dragon race with all are lvl 70 and at least 435 geared + i have 6 more low level alts i will get to 70 as time allows .
Got all classes to 120 in Legion.
For SL couldn’t bother to level more than two.
With the raised level cap in DF i really can’t be [Word for donkey that is traumatizing for prudes] to even bother with alts now that they will keep falling behind in levels.
Yea I feel you, my very old rogue main along with my warlock are both bank mules. Think I’ll just go with one serious alt and the rest will be wankers for gathering or mog farm lol.
I still love that, that word still isn’t blocked by the stupid filter. (might have gotten silenced 5 times for using it so far)…
I play 25 characters at level 70.
They are all around ILV 415+.
I usually play: TW dungeons.
When I have time: LFR, Heroic dungeons and Mithic 0.
I wish I would have one main, to do the story quests and explore the map.
However, each time I want to do that, I end up, queueing for another dungeon with a different character.
The most, I got done on the outside world, was the initial quests in Dragonflight starting area and Dreamsurge
Cheers.
