How Midnight’s Upcoming Game Changes Will Impact Combat Addons

That is the most garbage healer party frames I have seen in my life.

Please. It’s not difficult. Just copy-paste Cell and remove the Auras you dont want us to track.

Here is what is missing:

  • Targeted spells. You have this for your new Nameplates. It shows you the name of the person targeted by the “fireball”. So do it for the Raid Frames as well.
  • We need to black-list and white-list spells. This is a MUST. You cannot fill my UI with tons and tons of things I am not interested in. Including whatever you consider “major cooldowns”.
  • We need to decide if certain HoTs or buffs we give to people are to be presented as a change of color of the whole frame. Or just a little box in the corner. Im refering to key buffs such as Atonement.
  • Dispels need to be white and black listed. Things I can dispel (Magic, Curse, Poison in my case as RShaman) need to change the color of the whole box. Things I cannot dispel should be a box like any other debuff I have to power-heal.
  • Shields need to be better presented. I need to see how large someone’s shield really is. For example: The Ignore Pain of a PWarrior. How big it is.
  • I want to see how much my heal will do. In case I need to prepare a followup heal or not.

And most importantly:

  • Having an amazing Raid Frames changes nothing if your default Click on Party Frame keybinds are absolute garbage.

What you need to do with those keybinds is limit click to cast ONLY to the party frames. Im tired of trying to change the camera angle, clicking the hit-box of a party member and casting riptide instead.

Or… I cannot bind conditional keybinds. As in: If I click on a friendly on the raid frame I cast a heal. If I click on my target box (which is next to the raid frame) I cast a DD spell.

None of that can be done with your default keybinds. And you are months away from a workable healer UI.

It’s nice to see the Blizzard’s standard raid frames getting some love. I found them to be pretty limited and they were never properly customizable for a resto druid.

But also, more importantly, for the past decade I have been playing with Grid/Plexus and they have an option to invert the colour of the frames to gray, leaving only the names in class colours. This is way, way less stressful and triggering than the standard cacaphony of colour. And it’s also much easier on the eye to track debuff icons, the colour of the frames changing when cursed/poisoned/…. or something as simple as a player being in range or not.

It would be very nice to see this implemented in some way or form.

may the loa be with you mon .

Since this news broke, I have cancelled my 12 month running sub which I’ve had since 2021. I don’t mind Weakauras going but Elvui was the one addon that was my minimum ask for Midnight. Elvui had provided for years the accessibility I needed to optimise my frames and UI as the base is lacking. I have no faith that Blizzard will be able to provide even 10% of what I am currently able to do with Elvui.

The playerbase seems very mixed on this.

…and play another game.

Fixed it for you

Blizzard, allow me to say, don’t put effort and workforce to excuse the changes. You could simply announce us : All the changes coming to Midnight are aimed for new console players.
