How to become a void elf

I would say that it would simply be impossible to handle such power. You would die. The demon within you and void is something that would tear you apart or drive you mad. It is difficult for either void elves or demon hunters to handle the demon/void within them and not succumbing to it.

On to the topic: I agree with the idea, that it is possible to become void elf. Just by simple infusion of the void. Why would one want it? Many elves want power - for their own goals or just for using it against their enemies. The elves are inclinable to power: look at Nightborne or Blood elves, they cannot live without it.

I can certainly imagine that the Void Elves would be capable of making more like themselves. The real question is “Why would they?” Sure, they would certainly accept more people wanting to learn what they’ve learned, study with them, etc. They clearly haven’t given up on mastering the Void. But even though their being Void Elves makes it easier to wield the Void, everyone who talks about it seems to regard it as a curse. Just ask Alleria. I have to imagine that, at the very least, they give a lot of warnings to any prospective Void Elf that basically go “This is a really bad idea. If you still want to go through with it, you will never be rid of the voices.”

Though to be fair, becoming Void Elves was probably a natural consequence of living in Telogrus anyway. Elves mutate when they change environments, especially magical ones. Nightborne, High Elves, those Fel Elves we fight on Quel’danas, and so on - to say nothing of the really weird and sometimes intentionally transformed ones, like the Fal’dorei and the Naga. Put a bunch of Elves in a weird, magical place, let them sit a while, and you’ll come back to a new race of Elves.

Interesting food for thought. If blood/high elf spent long enough time in the rift maybe they would transform to a “light” version of void elf, not so powerful and maybe with less whispers? I doubt they would get the “same” void form by the environment that the exiled did by being almost completely turned to void beings.

Well, Gonk started collecting Ren’Dorei heads after that little science project they had in Zuldazar with the void-infused ravasaurs…
Thats kinda could motivate anybody…
And of course the main reason I think the good old Elven arrogance
Old God whispers? Bah, who cares, we are cooler and stronger than the Titan Keepers (sorry Loken) or even the mighty Aspects (Natharion who?) and we are totally capable of controlling the Void, not the other way around. And its for the greater good, for our people, for the Alliance, and for Azeroth! Please don’t mind the tentacles…

Now there is a difference between simply being fel-corrupted on one hand, and actually having a demon inside of you.

Whilst most who have a demon inside of them are corrupted by the fel; at least to a certain degree; not everyone who is corrupted has a demon inside of them. In fact, it seems most who are fel corrupted only have the corruption. Think about the Eredar, or the Fel Elves under Kael’Thas.

To give an analogy; just because you prefer to drink Jegermeister doesn’t mean the rest of us can’t stick to just beer -.^

I’m not sure they -can- make more Void Elves…Those Blood and High Elves at Telogrus are -studying the Void-, they’re not learning how to become Void Elves, because, well, there was only one entity who knows -how- the Void Elves became what they are, and Alleria killed him.

They were a magical accident, not intentional. I mean even -they- don’t know how they came to be the way they are, so they’re not going to be able to teach someone else how to. I don’t think you could shift from Blood Elf to Void Elf now, probably best to have been one of the original scholars when the experiment went wrong and have been changed then, to be honest…

Isn’t it implied in a conversation between Anduin and Alleria (or in some void elf related quest) that there can be more Ren’dorei than the current number at that time?

you forget that sweet purple skin. I love purple :stuck_out_tongue:

They’re more blueish than purple, hair aside and that just helps public relations as they look fashionable in Alliance colours.

Draenei skin colors and Elfin frame make us feel right at home with our friends from Kalimdor! Especially with the Night Warrior thing. That’s fun.

I’m perfectly willing to stand corrected if it is, but I genuinely don’t remember such being said. It would be weird if so, as it was something Durzaan was trying to do to -them- that got interrupted, not something -they- were trying to do to themselves. But if you do have a link for that I’d be interested in seeing it, I may be wrong.

I revisited the Ren’dorei cutscenes and dialogue, and I see I misremembered the conversation.
It did indeed refer to the existing void elves.

Anything is possible in the magical Warcraft universe, but I found no conclusive evidence that new Ren’dorei can be created after the event that made the original (playable) void elves.

Fair enough, with so many quests it is hard to remember -everything- said by NPC’s

I mean I suppose in the future they may be able to work out what Durzaan was trying to do and what specific thing went wrong, and possibly try to replicate it, Who knows, perhaps that is what Locus Walker finds so fascinating about Telogrus, perhaps he is trying to research a more…benevolent way to replicate Durzaan’s failed experiment.

Which reminds me…

Why exactly did we send a whole contingent of highly trained, specialized and irreplaceable elite Void Elves on the suicide mission to the swamps of Nazmir?

That’s like sacrificing a tower or a queen when you could instead have used a pawn.

We are the smallest Alliance force; a tiny splinter faction of eclectic & highly talented individuals from the remnants of a race almost wiped out during the third war and has been involved in constant, non-stop wars since.

The Alliance leadership must either have the strategical acumen of a drunk ogre or someone very important carries a special grudge against us!

That, or they volunteered. Some of them might’ve figured they can’t resist the Void whispers forever, so better to die a hero than live to see yourself become a monster.

Yeah, that’s pretty dark, but I mean, Void.

Well, I remember at least two somewhat official Alliance NPCs (that guy in Stormwind Cathedral, and … I forgot who the other was) who obviously aren’t our biggest fans…

You mean irresponsible, powerhungry derps who dabbled in powers they didn’t understand and had to be saved from destroying themselves, don’t you?

The two are not mutually exclusive.

Eclectic, highly talented powerhungry derps can accomplish great things even as they earn the infamy of ages.

I thought about the nazmir suicide mission the other day and arrived at some making the choice to die for the chance that their beloved home might be forever free from the cold grip of the bashee queen.

The voices may or may not have encouraged this as a grand idea.
