maybe just cut the top part above the ground in pieces as its possible to heal with a foreign object in the body and if its no longer world/life threatening anymore, as generally you try to not remove any sort of stab knives from body as removing it yourself before any proper help would just make you bleed much faster and much harder to control, just like the pandaran intro with the ship lodged in side then again its a much different object as the ship that leaks fuel/oil so unless the giant sword has something inside it that would seap into azeroth slowly as time goes by.
Some ways to get it out if the sword did have something in it releasing toxic stuff into the earth over time would start by cutting the top of the sword that is above ground then slowly deal with the part that’s underground cant just remove it all at once as the wound would spiral out of control, so taking bit by bit and dealing with the wound have it heal again then continue til your reached the end, at the end would need to fill a mountain sized hole… and like a skin graft surgery just take soil, from diffrent parts of azeroth to fill the hole and as people said above could plant a new tree in the soil.
is going to be a lot longer, becouse time does not work the same in the shadowlands then om azeroth. one 1 year in the shadowlands might be 10 years on azeroth.
That giant sword will remain as a monument for Azeroth’s children to visit in the future, where they will be told of the heroic efforts of champions to heal the wooouuuuunds.

It’s gonna be shot down by the horde cannon that’s in Azshara. We were promised the cannon would be fired during bfa, its not gonna be fired at stormwind any more thanks to the armistice. We kill N’zoth so it’s not gonna be used on him.
Either it’s going to dissapointingly shoot down some or all of the sword or it’s going to be fired in some weird celebration of unity.

Cool point, a thousand lifetimes might be lived on Azeroth whilst we’re in the Shadowlands for a few moments, but this needs to be remembered for any Lore character that steps into the afterlife.
Maybe my char will see his granddad buried, whilst being older than him when he sees it. Great opportunities.

Shame that it’s a sentient being though, not sure it can rust.
It’s there to be used in the future. Some sort of giant king Arthur will extract here some day. We just need the right expansion to tell this story I guess…
