How To Report Explicit Content In RP Addons

Many people seem to not be aware that sexual content in roleplaying addons (TRP, MRP, XRP) can be reported. Blizzard hasn’t exactly made it clear for people like you and me, and while some GMs will specifically mention that even addon text can be reported (and respectfully deal with your tickets), others will say that they do not moderate third-party content and suggest that you “uninstall the addon.” However, because the addons I mentioned transfer profile information between users via a chat channel, any explicit material on your profile is explicit material in the chat, i.e no better than saying it out loud in the Trade District.

With TRP3, reporting starts by pressing the “Report profile to Blizzard” button when opening someone’s profile.

A little pop-up window will open and give you a link to this support page:

https://eu.battle.net/support/en/help/product/wow/197/1501/solution
Here the nature of the issue is already specified (In-Game Issues > Report A Player > Harassment In Addon Text). There is no second category for explicit material in addon text. All you need to do is click the Contact Us button and proceed to write your ticket.

Make it clear that you are reporting sexually explicit content. If possible, attach screenshots of the profile; if there are explicit hyperlinks on the profile, copy those into the ticket as well. If all you have is an open TRP profile but no player name, you can find it in the profile directory:

The GM told me to right-click report the player instead of opening a ticket?

This does not work. The developers of TRP3 themselves said that right-click reporting does not send the necessary information to Blizzard. Additionally, right-click reporting only works when enough people do it at once. Unless you’re reporting mature profiles with half a dozen buddies, you’re wasting your time. Write a ticket.

The GM told me that they don't moderate addon text?

They do moderate information that passes through chat channels. Make it clear that this is how the addons work. If possible, refer to GMs saying that addon text can be reported, such as this:

After you submit your ticket, hope for the best. If the first reply is dismissive (see the above questions), write it again. Sometimes you’ll get lucky on the first try, sometimes you may need to go back and forth two, three, even four times.

Is it worth it to make Argent Dawn better?

Yes it is.

Thank you. I encountered the problem the other time where I tried to report a sexual TRP but couldn’t find how to make work the damn copy of data thing. Hopefully will not meet more of those, but if so…

It helps to attach pictures of the TRP if you can. I’ve done this a few times and a GM once accidentally confirmed action taken in an email to me (they said they got the party to be punished wrong and not to worry if I got an email about receiving a ban as they fixed it right away) - - so rest assured, it does work.

Is this actually against the rules, and would it even do anything in the first place?? I think 90% of ERPers are on trial accounts too.

You’d be surprised by how many use their main accounts - ERPers aren’t exactly known for their intelligence / ability to be subtle. If they were we wouldn’t even be able to find out it happens most of the time.

Is the this you refer to ERP? In which case, yes.

Is erotic content in a PG13 game against the rules?

My man

Did you read the post

No he did not apparantly.

But that said, great post and I’ll ensure to attach screenshots next time I’ll report a dirty ERP’er. I’ve done it only once and had a dismissive GM sadly, so I doubt anything was done, but this post gives me hope!

Great post, thanks for that! I’d say it is worth to be pinned, but do we even get those anymore these days? If so, how do you suggest threads to be stickied?

Also one small addition, in case you get a dismissive answer, you could also point the GM to the information on the TRP3 Github page:
They even have a small section which is aimed at CS reps:

I am a Blizzard consumer support employee and only learning about all this now. What should I do.

Do mind that they wont always take screenshots as proof. You can read this recent bluepost in another thread.

Do you need to report each individual individually, or can you block ticket?

You can actually do both but surely its best to report them individually incase you get a dismissive GM.
