totally agree on that just put a limit on the amount of gold that can be traded between players, not saying it will stop it all but it will make a huge difference.
They should because of the Season Pass nature of WoW. If your “prestigious” set was obtained because you were simply there and paid a subscription at that time, I do not care if it is made easier to obtain.
It’s so cringe when someone who has never even touched any pvp activity talks about how boosting doesn’t affect it at all.
Go to arena forums once and check what threads people are making. You guessed it right, there are decent amount of posts about how glad players are gatekeeping ppl on any rate thanks to their “coaching”.
I personally have been offered rmt boost when I was sitting in lfg.
"Do you need a gear to perform in pvp? Go do arenas what’s a problem? Oh you meet glad boosters with full conquest gear after 1,4? That’s fine, join our boosting community, we will carry you as long as you pay.
Imagine paying for game, then for sub to get into environment where this “coaches” create demand on boost so you can buy tokens too.
It’s fine tho, as long as people don’t touch rmt company is safe. I really wonder what this people maxed out on gold do with it. Probably buying tcg pets .
The biggest problem is you have people that have always been boosted for free by their friends. There is no prestige in alot of achievments,i’d reckon more achievements nowday from extremely hard content have more prestige than old achievemnets since back then timmy that didn’t knew anything and was dead was just being easily carried.
The few things that still have some prestige are Hallf of fame, cutting edge(to a lesser degree it’s being sold at the end of the tier and even faster)and insert “edgy name” gladiator for the top 0.5%.
In order to have something with prestige it must be hard so that you cannot carry someone else to it evenn though it’s impossible to create like that nowdays ,you’d have to let the bosses be unnerfed ever and make it so it’s so tight you can’t carry anyone.
Is great idea. But is so many sellers because many people are… low skilled and they paying for these things. Why? Dont have idea. If I have zero game skills and I need pay someone to play for me it will be not better play in different game?
People are lazy, dumb, hard to say. But boosting stop if people start playing, not buying.
Because they want to have fun
And either lack the skill or the time to have it their own, but have money
The boosted content is just a fraction of the game, and with better things they could enjoy the rest better… or they just want to have a mog, a pet, a mount (N’zoth dragon come to mind) or just see some number
Fun is pretty relative
I’m horrible in pvp and probably never will have that 10 ranked win to my Mage tower skin
Would totally buy a boost to have it - rather to sneak in and ruin other peoples fun by beeing a burden
yea we don’t like p2w. But it’s not that easy dealing with it. A very very significant portion of the economy rotation is happening with the boosting. Even ignoring the problems the 10k limitation brings and only focusing on boosting itself, that just destroys the economy.
Problem with boosting is when ppl are boosted they exploit their dmg in random bgs, showing their “skills” on under geared ppl and streaming/saving videos and posting on youtube how they wrecked everything. Its really sad.
Again, not really. The dynamic of how both game modes play out are vastly different, the skill cap to entry for rbgs marginally lower as the team size expands marginally. You can make up for individual player skill with more meat heads to fill the roster, the mog I couldn’t care about. But at the same time, the amount of people who are A. Boosted or B. Getting to ratings they’ve never achieved via arena but are that in rbgs(kinda a joke when you can basically get 1600 in 10 games give or take), its laughable and pretty obvious why it needs to be looked into, the amount of rating you gain vs how much you lose in that bracket is stupid.
Rbgs reward scheme should be seperate from arena just like how M+ / raid have different reward schemes “season pass” nature or not.
Not really the case, and especially not when you can just… buy gold. For PvP, boosting effects others. For PvE? Sure, doesn’t effect much… unless you recruit for pugs through raiderio score, then it does. Or you require AOTC, again… Saying that ‘boosting does not effect others’ is kind of wrong.
BUT I also know that there’s no way for Blizzard to really effectively ‘fight’ it unless they pay close attention EVERY raid/dungeon lockout and PvP match. You stop allowing people to PAY for runs then suddenly all the runs either don’t use in-game currency or find ways around that or just full RMT and say ‘they’re a friend just taking me a long.’
So, I think boosting is really here to stay. I just wish there were more rules against advertising it EVERYWHERE so at least that would be pushed away and people would have to seek out boosts if they want them. nod
can u stop trolling … it is not pay to win … gold is not giving you any advantage … only what u can do is pay to catch up . PERSON WHO IS BOOSTING YOU IS ALREADY WON … so it is not any pay to win
I trade people more than 10k all the time and I don’t boost. Bad idea…
Trading items to avoid AH cuts.
Trading gold to friends.
Tipping more than 10k for Legendary base items crafting, etc.
Mailing gold to alts (if you can still mail as much gold as you want, there is no point to limit the amount of gold in a trade)
etc.
I do, so if all that bothers you is the item level reward of RBG, I agree that they give gear faster than other instances which means that RBG players can arrive in arenas already in 226 gear from only RBG (but hey, I will take anything I can if it means I can complete the FOMO cash grabs like KSM S1 and Rival sets faster and give as little money as I can to B bby). If not, then the system is fine.
More like 100.

Raids are not victim of the predatory Fear of missing out system. They reward nothing unobtainable (don’t give them ideas) except a useless achievement, until the last patch of the expansion for the AOTC mount. Hard to have “different” reward schemes when you do not reward anything. And Mythic+ only is a FOMO cash grab since Shadowlands or the final patches of the past expansions.
RBG do not even award Gladiator titles/mounts. That is already a major “separation.”
Guess you don’t play retail then to be overshooting to that extent, I see people who are literally 50/50 w/l in games played in rbgs with not even a total of 50 games played sometimes, at the very least be realistic about how easy it is to climb.
Unless you’re taking it as a personal attack which wouldn’t surprise me in most cases, a lot of people like their free carries in rbgs after all. Most of the people I see rocking the mogs have never even stepped into an arena, let alone got to 1500. Pretty sure the rating gained/ lost needs looking at, as far as I am concerned it looks very easy to climb.
I could carry this on but I’m not interested in making it a shouting competition. I personally don’t see skills transferring from rbgs to arena, from my personal experience a lot of the players who have the rival/duelist rating in just rbgs generally prove that statement around duelist or rival rating.
I’ll never see the appeal/justification of why rbgs should co-exist with loot/appearance rewards to arena when they already have their own albeit out-dated rbg rewards which could just be a case of adding more to it, bam done cause as far as I’m concerned the skill-cap there is grossly different to arena.
