I wasn’t heterophobic before. I considered myself a kind, tolerant person, but the unreasonable reactions of the straight people in this thread and elsewhere online have made me reconsider. The modern straight agenda is just asking too much, I really miss a few years ago when it was about just trying to coexist.

It’s about social hierarchy, Sorrowshade.
In the western european and north american society the straight white male is on top socially. Doubly so if he engages in “healthy heterosexuality” which means he has preferably a marriage to a woman of a similar age who he engages in intercourse with for the purpose of procreation primarily. This is what’s considered at the top of the ladder. Of course there’s other things that can move you further up or down the ladder outside of your gender, skin color and sexuality such as job, background, wealth, etc. But generally the straight white male is on top.
Thus what the LGBTQIA+ community is doing is considered “punching up”. This has been something very vital to changing status quos throughout western history. The french peasantry made fun of the cishets in Paris and stormed the Bastille in the french revolution. The american colonists made sick memes about the Down With Cis-ship and threw the british hets’ White Claws in the harbor during the american revolution.
However when the straight attack the LGBTQIA+ for engaging in behavior such as literally existing or wanting to do things the straights take for granted like having relationships, expressing their feelings or playing an MMO it’s considered “punching down” and it’s kinda bad taste.
