Stop with the lies, hunter where not top dps all of P1, not even close. So stop with the crying already.
Just give melee hunter 6sec instant raptor strike with 30% chance of reset Flanking strike and more tools/escape/close up abilities. Nerf 3sec instant melee, I don’t care and +30% ambi damage. Need fu*** more tools, that’s all.
Every classes need more tools and different gameplay, no more damage.
I don’t know what talents Quick Strike benefits from but Raptor Strike also benefits from a talent that gives it 20% crit chance. So if you couple that with high agility and Master Marksman you might end up at 30-35% chance for a crit. And at the end of the Survival tree you get the talent that gives 15% increased agility so even more crit chance.
That’s a lot of crit for Raptor Strike vs Quick Strike.
Did you even see the logs? It is pretty ok, unless you high roll way too much with the resets. Also don’t forget that pets don’t scale that well and the gap will close. Pvp wise everything it so bursty that you can’t realy judge yet. Honestly just drop the chance to 25% and add to the reptor reset a " this effect can’t proc more than 3-4 times in 10 sec" and it will be fine
only been 1 lock out of the new raid… remmeber when p1 started, soon as wars and rogues got geared they wiped the floor with every other class in terms of dps… give it a couple of weeks then come back to whos top dps, bets it wont be melee hunters anymore

SS needed a nerf, indeed, but as it is now… wtf. But not fixing the rune u need to use Starfire… how can this happen?!
Also the animation of Starsurge is edited by moderatorand literally destroys the fun. The Sounds of Eclipse are also edited by moderator… constantly listenig to it during a fight.

And people still bring hunter for 10% buffs. What do Rogue do beside DPS?
What gear do you think will increase Rogue/Warrior dps by 50%? The increase from BFD BIS > Gnome BIS is such a small gain compared to lvl 25 questing gear > BFD bis.
They focused all their energy on caster loot this phase. Even re-tuning SM gear for a smoother caster experience.
Look at a Rogue prebis list. Its all 100g+ BOE’s no one really can obtain without buying gold.
well maybe its time for a change from having wars and rogues toping the meters, they still do good damage but just arnt doing 2-3 times more than everyone else.
gnomer gear prob be some slight upgrades but upgrades non the less, still feel we need to wait for at least another 2-3 weeks to get the real numbers in
If you dont have them top dps, you need to give them a different value. Like druids having wild strikes or hunters having kings.
If the only thing you provide to the raid is damage, and ur not even the best at it, why take you to the raid?
Raptor strike and quick strike aren’t anywhere near the same.
Quick Strike benefits from Heroic Strike, so it basically costs 3 less rage and can proc Blood Surge rune. Quick Strike isn’t a core damaging ability, it’s a rage dump and nothing more.
A lot of the warrior DPS was because Deep Wounds was bugged, that’s been fixed now.
But you’re right, melee hunter won’t be top for long. The bosses have such a massive armour pool that itwould be impossible for any physical DPS to be top.

It’s worse, they don’t need to understand theory crafting at all. They have everything they need to take out most of the theory in theory crafting.
Hell any half decent player with the ability too, in seconds change specs and use any item with a training dummy could tell you whats great and whats bad.
As for hunter itself we scale the worst of all classes so with more gear this chart will look different. Personally I dont want to play a hunter for melee and I hope they do not make it meta to play the most brain dead of hunter specs. I’m also not a fan of the 3 second raptor in its current form. I will need to run in to hit raptor every other gcd, which is fun for awhile but gets exhausting. That wont change until MM aimed shot makes a come back then we can at least get a break while casting.
On the other hand it is nice not to see brown perched at the top(for now) like 95% of the time in classic and I will not lose any sleep over warrior tears with the amount of abuse I have taken by playing hunter for years while serving as a buff bot to melee overlords. I would love to see the tears if hunters got prio on one handed weapons and trinkets in the future, though at that point I wont be playing just watching the drama.
The problem with the melee hunter currently is solely due to the incompetence of the developers who have not understood anything or taken the time to think about how to make a survival melee hunter viable without being OP.
First of all, a melee hunter should not only say CQC, it should have gone through a rune that removes the dead zone (while preventing shots at melee distance) and play with the hunter’s skills, trap in combat, instant shot, melee weaving, etc.
The melee hunter should be played at a distance of 5-20 yards, alternating melee and ranged attack. There we would have had interesting gameplay without having a single completely OP skill which will be nerfed in all cases.
I don’t agree with you at all. That’s too complicated for the casual players. The majority who plays hunters cannot press more than 2-3-4 buttons and you’re talking about weaving. Blizzard listens to casual/average players exclusively who cannot weave or play the way you’re describing above so gl.

A level 32 melee hunter, did more DPS than both the boomkins combined…
Could you give us more intell? The DPS of the Boomkins and the hunt for example. For me in your exemple the problem is not the Hunt’ DPs but the Bommkins’s.
Maybe its the stuff or the experience in the raid?
By the way in our last try in GN the first hunt DPS is a distance one
I don’t see how it would not perform crazy well when raptor have such a high crit chanse, combined with having a rank up at level 40 as well.
It needs adjustments for sure but I think they should give it a few lockouts to see how things pan out when people are geared up, hunters are pretty well known in classic for having horrid scaling.
