Hunters are waaaay too op!

You have seen this in alpha stream?

This pure DPS best DPS meta for 15 years xD
Consistency throw the roof

It’s all about traits. It took 5 allys more than 1 minute to kill my undergeared 436 elemental shammy earlier today. I had plenty of fun of it.

‘Fun’

Depends. That’s exactly how it is with cats.

That’s where you’re wrong, kiddo!

Survival is the fun one! FITE ME!

Fight my pet instead. He’ll murderize ya! :wolf:
And ps; I’m much too old to be called ‘kiddo’, honestly. :sob:

Stomp is an ability the pet does automatically when you hit Barb Shot.

The following is from a top parse from a BM hunter on Warcraft Logs, here is the dmg breakdown:

  1. All pet damage (which includes pet melee, fully automatic pet abilities or those that proc automatically from other abilities the hunter uses)

45.23%

  1. Kill Command

26.03%

  1. Auto Shot

8.93%

Now I left out some of the lower sources of damage, some of which were actual abilities, and more passive dmg from an essence that out-stripped or equalled some of those abilities. I also grouped all the pet damage together but Auto Shot was 4th highest on the list.

So Auto Shot is a little more than nothing. It did nearly twice the damage of Barbed Shot and more damage than Cobra Shot in that parse (which are actual abilities you have to use).

no it is still there, but sometimes, if you use kill command, the pet hits one or two more times before moving to next target if you command it, it works better if you take the pet to you and then send it to next one, but if you try to switch in mid combat it sometimes just becomes akward, Azhara fight is a prime example if you try to kill the add that spawns and want all dmg you can on it, your pets can be so slow it aitn even worth to get them there.

makes a change for hunters to be flavour of the month, they usually belittled

Stuns pet
Harpoon Tahra
beat you with weapon

WHAT DID YOU SAY!?

Pfff…

Pet enrages, can’t be stunned.
The end.

:sunglasses:

my BM pet is good in visions

Hibernate x3, stun, root x3 repeat. Enjoy having a pet ^^

Their damage and utility is one, but that they are ranged but can move as much as they like without having to sacrifice anything kind of grinds my gears.

Oh and 9% crit just from doing barbed shot regularly, nois. Which also stomps and reduces the cd of BW. Nois x3.

:man_shrugging:

No clue what you just said.

I’ll be having cool adventures along with my 2 pets. /wave

This. I remember someone did a “let’s use one ability” DPS race with their guildie, they were only allowed to use one ability every 6 seconds, and that only ability only. Non corruption gear i believe, but az traits. I can’t remember what spec the opponent was but the guy doing it was BM and he parsed about 70-80% of his typical DPS by just using barbed shot every 6 seconds where possible, because so much of BM hunter damage is baked into stuff you don’t control, AA procs, procs from ability ticks and your pet.

I can understand people saying it’s fun, I to fun to do good DPS. It’s fun like when you get a free fall during bejewelled and the game automatically finishes your moves and you see your score go up. It is fun, but, you’re not really doing much.

“Brain-dead” is a unhelpful term. Mileage varies greatly. yes BM has to monitor frenzy stacks and avoid overcapping BS charges…which means you’re not doing nothing. But there are a huge amount of specs that do wildly more, most pertinently the other two hunter specs.

So I don’t doubt it’s fun, like DH can be fun. But own it I guess. It’s perfectly plausible to say BM is fun and it’s simplicity might be part of that, and there is nothing wrong with that. But to find it fun and argue it’s actually super complex to defend that, is just outright disingenuous, because it is one of the games simplest damage specs with its current iteration with Azerite gear, fact. People find specs fun for different reasons. Some like specs that are relaxing, others prefer something more complicated, nobody is wrong.

Personally I find MM way more fun than BM, it’s partially rotation related but also I really hate the notion of the hunter who hides at the back whilst their pet does all the work. It doesn’t feel right to me. Warlocks are about the disposable minion life, but hunters sending their beloved companion in to get dirty whilst they occasionally lend some ranged support? Doesn’t gel with me personally. I’d prefer BM to be the melee spec and Survival to be the “stands at the back and let’s pet get dirty” as the names seem more appropriate to me. Survival Hunter, so I Wade into melee where it’s dangerous and it’s harder to trick foes with my gadgets and traps? Alright then. I do love how it plays but the names are wrong to me.

Is that really a fury warrior calling another spec easy?

Had a good laugh guys!

Hopefully you obviously saw the sarcasm in my post  right ? : ) RIGHT ??
Anyway it was just a post i did since we were memeing about hunter dps being pretty good :stuck_out_tongue:

Pet melee damage is high because you have to keep up 3 frenzy stacks, which increase your pet’s attack speed by 90%. If you fail to keep them up their damage drops a lot. So it’s not completely “passive” damage. Let your pet attack and do nothing and see how the damage sucks.

Literally every melee class has higher autoattack damage since bfa, let’s not pretend that only hunters have a lot of autoattack. Take assa rogue where most damage is passive from autoattacks + poisons + passive vendetta dot.

I remember that thread.
That guy used a lot of corruption gear where I remember infinite stars and essences did most of the damage. Also he had the Skitra bow that reduces the cd of a random ability and by only using barbed shot he always had the cd reduction on that ability and was able to use a lot more than in a normal boss fight.

If you remove corruption and essences and only press one ability your damage is going to suck hard.
The point of that thread was to say that with this patch it doesn’t matter what class are you playing and how skilled you are, it just a matter of gear and corruption, and that is the same for every dps spec.

Dude we spent the whole expansion at middle of the pack. Warriors however have been overtuned nearly the whole expansion in Mythic+ As prot. Or did you forget the 200k dps Thunderclap spam in 8.1?
