I’d rather not dredge through that entire story in-game either.
A ton of games have side stories in books anyway.
The main antagonist for the past 2 expansions is a side story? Whatever you say homie. (Don’t even try to mention the jailer he’s a nobody we both know it)
This is the first wow book I’ve bothered to read but I agree the story should be visible in game, not in that detail but we shouldn’t have to buy a book to understand something happening in game.
I’m in two minds about it. I think yes, we need the information in the game but also they cannot implement the depth of writing from the book into the game.
No need to worry! Warchief will collect souls in no time. I mean she is Ranger General after all, and then she will return to the throne.
Slightly OT
I’ve just realized Tyrande sentenced Sylvanas into doing The Maw dailies for eternity O_O
Even worse - she cant leave nor mount up in the Maw.
That’s my exact issue. Sure, she can feel guilt, but she can not be guilty because of the absence of “criminal” conduct and the associated state of mind. In essence, she merely accepted the charges for the crimes she did not commit, as if a bystander would admit guilt by mere witnessing the crimes being committed and then feeling guilty for not preventing the crime.
In the story, that was she was, the “real” Sylvanas was trapped (allegedly), and she was only able to witness. Also, we shall not ignore that Jellyer made her soul “whole” again, which further implies that she was never in control or fully aware of what was going on with her, only to some degree. Thus, she was made to behave that way against her will, making her a victim.
I was making an example of that theory previously. If we imagine that people could “split” souls against your will and as a consequence, it will make you behave differently and even be capable of killing. How would you be found guilty if the court knew that your state of mind was altered artificially (against your will) by criminals for their benefit? Perhaps, you’d be treated as a victim, and criminals would be prosecuted instead because logically, they made a weapon out of your body and soul or/and exploited you against your will.
I can agree that writers possibly moved her away before the Dragonflight. However, arguably, she was a much more interesting character in the game lore than Khadgar.
She took one for the team.
