I think its part of a quest chain where you see Arthus’s fall to becoming the Litch King - been over 10 years since i’ve done it though

I remember there being some questchain in the maw of Neltharion that required you to cleanse some bones. Maybe it’s related?

I might also be completly off, it’s been a while since I’ve crafted ebonweave.

Those were the dragon bones in the lava pool in order to kill a quest npc who was trying to raise them.

That’s fair, it does make a bit more sense to cleanse dragon bones rather than gnome bones in a dragonshrine.

Then again, we honestly know very little about the black dragonflight before it got corrupted by N’zoth, perhaps they’ve frequented gnome as their humanoid forms, similar to that digusting bronze thing we have now?
