not this sort of thread again.
some people say bad things, just ignore/report, and move on.
I dont get why people care about what random people say.

I think it’s the fact that the OP only just came back to the game and this was their greeting. While many will say you get bad people everywhere I do feel that WoW has a higher number of them than other games, especially when it comes to wiping in dungeons, people go through one wipe and act like someone kicked their dog.
I get that people have limited time to play so want to go through as much content as fast as possible, but having a terrible attitude just makes people not want to play this game, and we need to have more subs, not less.
As a DK you were already “offed” technically. Yeah, sometimes we wipe and it can be frustrating but no reason to tell someone those things. Been told once before to die of cancer because i made a slip up while tanking. Then someone else said that dying of cancer was to good for me. Never reported them though.
Sometimes, theese things just stick. I know the feel.
It may «just» be a videogame, but we are still people playing and some days we just absorb stuff we usually would not .
Just try to let it go.
There are so many awsome people ingame.
And thoose kinda people who drop negativity like that aint worth your time
Think of it this way… resorting to insults on the internet over a videogame (especially IRL threats, lol) is probably the most pathetic attempt to improve ones self-worth.
I usually think to myself something along the lines of “oh, you sad person. Is this all that you’ve got going for you?”, and I am left slightly annoyed but that’s it. If I respond, I usually agree with them as that seems to infuriate them even more.
“You’re a useless, clueless Paladin” - “yes, yes I am!”
Report, ignore and move on.
Welcome to the world of online gaming.
Here’s what you do:
1- Report.
2- Ignore.
3- Move on.
Here’s what won’t do anything remotely useful:
1- Posting about it on the forums.
2- Taking it seriously and annoying yourself with the constant thought of it.
So, my advice to you is simple. Be polite, don’t care, ignore the annoying ones and move on. Report is the only thing you can do. And one forum post won’t educate those people on how to behave like a decent human being either.
Also look for a guild or community that is not hostile to new or returning players.

youre emotionally upset by a random stranger on an online computer game says something unpleasant to you?
the internet must be an awful place for you then.
I think its upsetting when people say sup instead of hello, think ill start reporting them too.
Just ignore and off you go on your merry way
You’re a horrible person.
People with social anxiety DO CARE and get upset when a stranger treats them this way. It’s bad enough that they feel this way. The constant judging of others.
How about you be a better person.
This attitude helps nothing and no one. A new player to WoW encountering this behaviour is likely to consider the whole thing to be pointless if they’re going to be moaned at and harassed for doing one thing wrong.
If I were new to this game I’d definitely leave after encountering this kind of behaviour. I stick around because my investment in the game far outweighs the a-hats who make stupid comments, but that’s not true for a new player.
I’ve seen newbies treated really badly, I’ve seen them removed from the group that I was tanking, then having to explain to them that it’s not their fault. This shouldn’t happen, and telling people to just get over it is like supporting all the negative behaviour, because it’s on the victim of said behaviour to fix it, not the perpetrator.
Yes, there are a-hats everywhere, but that’s not reason nor excuse to tolerate it.
I think it’s perfectly human having feelings. You don’t know who’s going to be on the other side of the keyboard. A lonely guy with inferiority complex perhaps? A 12 years old bullied at school? a guy with problem of anxiety? Who knows, and who gives the right to be mean?
Human being is so disgusting sometimes…
Yes Bukachu needs to be reported to prevent that happening again in the future.
I agree with everyone ^.
Don’t let them get to you, ignore or report and move on.
It’s how they communicate their feelings. They are like babies, but instead of “agouu” and “wuaaah”, they scream “Kys noob”.
Picture them as that and continue playing and enjoying your time.
Also, to make your enjoyment more- you can “KEK” at them before you ignore them.
It’s sad to see people consider this behaviour normal. I would be very upset if someone told me to go die of cancer as my dad died due to cancer 3 years ago. You don’t know the person so don’t go and call them names etc because you don’t know how much it will hurt them and it may have more dire consequences than you think because not everyone just “gets over it”
I dont think its a normal behavior, but im saying you shoudlnt let it get to you.
things you see and hear can be bad but its up to you if you let it affect you or not.
I think things like this get to anyone if they are having a bad day already or if it’s directed to something they experienced before
The second you let things like this get to you, especially in an internet environment, you give the perpetrators power over you. You give them space in your head to hurt you.
I’m not for 1 second saying we should totally ignore this type of behaviour, that’s what the report function is for, but once that report is done let it go and move on otherwise it will be more detrimental to you and your mental health. If you can’t laugh it off afterwards then you need to walk away and re-evaluate why it’s got to you so much. That is coming from someone with severe anxiety issues too, every one needs to learn to cope with all the nasty stuff thrown at them for the sake of their own health. Let blizzard deal with it and get on with your own fun
it’s more than simply ‘some might abuse that rule’ like it’s a small thing, around the world nost civilised countries have something called ‘presumption of innocence’…or innocent until proven guilty…this is a very good system, you do NOT want it the other way around…-.-
i know the gutter press and the general public prefer to decide for themselves a persons guilt but we have a pretty decent system of law (though not infallible) that is the right place for it…
it has NOTHING to do with being a ‘kiss-up’…-.-
pretty much this. I can share how I deal with it, usually in an aggressive way. last time i went ham on someone Who was being vile, it costed me my twitch.tv account and almost lost team sponsores doxed the guy and did some bad stuff to him basically
fun times.
not saying others should do the same, but people definitely gotta learn how to deal with issues. its not butterflies and sunshine always, sometimes you gotta stomp a teeth or two and break a bone or two too
Imagine if your grandmother you were close to died. You decide to play wow to get your mind off things. You join a bg or a dungeon and someone starts being agressive towards you. This would not get to you? Should you just stay off wow because there is a chance someone is going to flame you and you can’t deal with it at that moment?
But telling someone to kill themselves isn’t normal behaviour. No one in real life would have approached you (And if they do, they have severe issues they need to sort out.) and told you to do that.
I’m really sorry to hear about your father passing away though, cancer is a b*tch. I remember about two years ago, my mother got some blood test results back, and the doctor told her it was a high chance that she could have cancer. I couldn’t sleep for a week. Luckily, she didn’t have it, but I can’t imagine what it’s like to go through something like that. You have my condolences.
I do agree with you though. You shouldn’t go around and call people names and tell them to kill themselves, because some may take it closer to heart than others. But as soon someone is behind a screen, it happens. I don’t know why people think it’s okay to do as soon as you sit behind a computer, but it happens. How you let those words on that screen affect you, is entirely up to you. Going around and dwelling on it isn’t good, regardless of where you are in life.
