I will go as far and say transmog ruined WoW

Not a terribly pc phrase I suppose but in my house we often refer to our chars as looking like wearing Oxfam rejects when levelling until we use the transmog. All random bits and prices that in no way match up. The more transmog the better in my opinion. It’s always nice to spot someone wearing an item that suits a look you’re aiming for and figuring out how to get it.

As to chill hubs, well we could use more places marked as a sanctuary such as Dalaran, particularly with warmode. In a way that’s looking towards player housing which they haven’t managed to get quite right yet. Garrison was a good attempt but actually kept people apart rather than bringing them together in a hub.

I think it’s rather sad that you have no aspiration or motivation of your own and can’t set up a goal for yourself unless you see someone else and try to emulate them.
I know many people do this, not only for gear but also behavior, speech and even character names, but the last thing i’d do is to call it a “perfect scenario”.

Oh these cry babies, oh these cry babies… Look I was mythic set when BoD mythic was there unless you were raiding BoD mythic you couldn’t get this gear easily. Yes I was cool looking dude of my time, but now let other people feel the same. Why do you even care what they wear or how they look like?

People with cool mogs (Mythic in my case) had their time, now its time for casuals feel the same.

And yes you have no right as you came in Legion.

I understand what the OP is talking about and there is a lot of positives and negatives about transmog. I do feel it is difficult to gauge what people’s gear level is just by looking at them now but tbh i think the transmog personally is a good idea. Stops people looking at all the same at various tiers.

^^ This

I had a look out of curiosity and omg I look awful

I like transmog, though it is a bit OTT sometimes, I have 28 pages of cloaks, and I usually don’t even use them for transmog. I think it should be extended to all BoP items no matter their rarity.

With gear having 0 identity nowadays, for me it’s a relief that Transmog exists. I get to wear all the cool gear I got back in the day.

There are many objective things ruining the game, so it’s not really an opinion. This is just one of them, and you illustrated the problem with transmogging perfectly.

I mean it changes each expansion, for most Boralus, SW or SW duelzone is the chill area atm. One of the key mistakes of modern WoW is that the zones die with the patch they were introduced in - if you take a look at Broken Shore, Argus, Broken Isles in general and Zandalar and Kul Tiras in general - they are completely dead zones after 1 patch. Nowadays, people only go out in the open World to do World quests to do those nasty AP quests so they can progress their timegated necklace, and a few only go out and gather materials for professions or actually do WPvP. Most people with WM on don’t even PvP at all.

No mog, no log.

I don’t want to have to chose between looking good or being strong.

Transmog is keeping the game alive, and is the single best feature added in later years the game. Especially with the appearance collection in Legion.

It keeps old content (which is a huge majority of the game’s total content) relevant, provides possibility for self-expression and completion.

This is a disjointed ramble and doesn’t explain how transmog killed wow.

It’s called logging off.

I am aware Daz’alor is a little different, but Boralus feels like the “chill” place we always had.

I am driven by mogs. Not stats, so if I see cool items I’d like added to my mog collection, I go find 'em.

I think things are better now than before. I think my biggest gripe trying classic(I did play vanilla) will be the lack of transmog. It’s going to hurt my eyes.

Nah. With the way tier sets are gone I’d like mog to stay tbh. At current people will either look like crusty pirates thanks to benthic, or a random mismatch of golden feathers and/or pirate gear from mythics. You may have a few people rocking EP gear who look like fish people as well.

Mogs give us choice. Choice is good. Even with tier sets, having every druid look exactly the same? Every warrior? Nah. Mogs are cool.

transmog is fun, heck even the bright colors from tbc can look great if you managed to match them right, and not like it was in tbc, where you looked like someone going for a pride parade. (no pun intended, but those parades are quite colorfull what is nice)

Haha, I can relate to that.

Luckily I played this druid, and the colourschemes of epic leather in TBC were pretty similar so I didn’t look as much of a clown as my hunter did(which I had as main until june 2007).

transmog is awesome and was a huge win for wow.

We’re not living in Classic anymore. I want to design the characters like I want them to be. It’s part of their identity, especially on RP-servers.

Transmog sure beats the plate/leather combo my paladin used during ICC

I disagree. I think transmogs are actually good for the game because it is keeping people playing. There are people who are mog farmers and this is all they do all day long, without mogs they would probably quit hte game.

There is nothing wrong with someone farming cool gear. I mean I still farm old gear sets from the older zones and content when I am looking for something to do.

As for a place to chill, people will hang out where they want to. You can see people gathered in the AH/bank vaults in Stormwind, at the same location in Origmmar and at the dock in Zuldazar, same for in Boralus. The reason why the 2 new zones are busy are because they are the newest zones. You can of course always find people in Goldshire.

As for Ironforge, there is no real reason for people to go there so it is dead. This changes around Feast of the Winter Veil time, it will be packed as there is something to do there.

I do think we need guild housing, that would be great for guilds to have a place of their own to hang out, somewhat like the free companies have in FFXIV.

I’m sorry, go play Classic and see if looking like a clown is fun. It’s not.

There are plenty of “chill hubs” nobody will use them unless RPers.

If anything, what the game needs is modern customization like warframe and guild wars 2, allowing for at least some colour modification.

Having lived the TBC days as well, I gotta say, it’s cool when you get that set…but as soon as you don’t, everything falls apart.

And chances are you don’t, especially since set pieces weren’t guaranteed to have the stats you wanted. (like how enhancement shamans would take hunter off-set recolours which didn’t match their sets at all)
