Ideas for Shadowpriest changes

You said youre pvp player. How on earth can you even suggest mind trauma as an qol or even improvement to the class. Bolting us down even more, fullcasting mindflay that does nothing and has increased cast time for shadowlands so you can spend procs during chanel. Do you play only bgs ? Theres no way in hell ppl let you stack it in arena…
Nobody plays void origin. Thats an qol change but nobody plays it…we have too many good pvp talents to spend it on VO. Its not mandatory at all.

What we need for pvp imho is some dispell protection, movement options, kick protection(meaning more schools so youre not basicaly stunned out of the entire class if kicked). Currently shadow imho has an amazing pvp toolkit…but lacks the damage. Number tuning would do the work for pvp.

For pve we need aoe rework.

The problem with these topic i feel like theres million people with a milion ideas and opinios. Person one say dots do zero damage, person two says mind blast do zero damage, person three says mind flay does zero damage, person four says devouring plague does zero damage etc etc… You know what i mean. That way if everyrhing does mega dam, nithing realy does and we end up beign op af. I personaly think our new mastery is an elegant solution to this where all our dots are sort of enablers for our class to do damage. Improving the entire toolkit instead of one ability. We have nice damage profile of everything doing some damage close to each other coming up together nicely. Not like other classes where one or two abilities makes up 80% of the damage. imo. Where this is problematic, again, is aoe …m+ is the issue where we dont have the benefit from our mastery since nightmare only aplies pain and we still have ramp up time.

Currently we need number tuning if anything else. Rework wasnt bad, but it desperately needs polishing.

Also i peesonaly would love legion/bfa voidform minigame come back as 4. spwc so i can enjoy it again and those who dobt like it can go back to spamming mindblast and mindflay.

what I like about Mind Trauma is not necessarily how we apply it, but as a class fantasy, we make the opponent mad, or mess with their mind(Mind Trauma, Thoughtsteal, Void Shift, Psyfiend(illusory temporary spawn) esque abilities).

Also, I believe it was the Psychic Horror(talent) I refered to, feeling nigh mandatory, not Void Origins. :smiling_face:

That aside, I am very much with you on the Voidform minigame from legion, and would love to see some sort of version of that brought back to us, but I don’t mind change either, but if I could choose, I would love to stay on the void side(eventually becoming influencial enough to mimic smaller old gods?).

Have you got any thoughts as to what could be changed, that might work? Also thoughts on the ideas I mentioned about aoe? :grin:

I only wanna say that i feel personaly that void eruption should be our aoe insanity spender, ofc with way higher damage. So i do kind-ish agree with your suggestion.
Erruption is such a nice and visualy pleasing ability to press…yet you use it only once per 2 mins.
It could also aply dots or simply refresh them on all targets. But that would also still make our aoe ramp up…since you would have to aply dots before doing damage or wait for erruption to apply them before your damage raps up due to our mastery. And we all know how ramp up damage feels in m+…before you start doibg damage pack have 1/3 hp gone and two dps and tank have already 40k+ dps without cds…

Idk how to fix it…buffing nightmare? How much? Where is the spot when it overtakes devouring? etc.

Yes! Which is why it sucks to have to choose between Searing and Twists of Fate because we’re stronger after the burst folks burn out. Void bolts do refresh dots, even on adjacent targets, so that’s nice, but I do wish there were more dot quality of life than that. If void eruption dotted everything it would probably be too overpowered, unfortunately. Unless we had a zero-damage debuff that enabled apparitions but did nothing else, that’d work for eruption to apply. Atm void magic feels like it’s meant exist separately from dots, since void form gives you full benefit regardless of dots (but no apparitions).
