In all fairness I would say it is tied to game play. Collecting cosmetics is a huge part of what many players choose to focus on as well as an incentive to engage with other aspects of the game due to the carrot on a stick mentality.
Player housing will tap into that - as it has in other MMO’s - with the added benefit of also catering to role players which are a decent chunk of the game’s community and generally remain subscribed for long periods of time.

Idk I like player housing, why not. What is the downside?
That’s gonna be something that permanently stays in the game, so why not.
less of other content - a more interesting one -that isnt mmo sims 4
I mean 80% of the game is spent in some form of waiting queue, so adding housing adds content during the queue

Well its something which part of playerbase demanded for over a decade so we are getting it.
I personaly dont care but then i dont care about pet battles either while there are literaly people out there for whom its main endgame so its good that’s its making its way into game.
Im much more hyped for legion remix tbh

I hope I am wrong but:
☆ I fear the housing feature will be the only actual new feature of the next expansion
☆ I fear the quality of the main city will suffer because of it or will not be designed in the first place. Having it be Silvermoon for both alliance and horde would be disappointing, too
☆ I think Midnight early access will include some sort of a housing cosmetic set

The housing feature is not a feature of the next expansion it launches with this one before the next expansion.
I watched video about it.And they learned their stuff.They watched what other mmorpgs done and they learned their homework.
It will be evergreen stuff.
We gonna be here there and everywhere.
They asked content creators to tell em what they think is wrong.
And they been doing it for years but we didn’t know.It should be a succes.

Housing it just more needless clutter in an already far too bloated game. People who want that stuff should go play the sims or something, not be catered to.
What, are you suggesting that you’re not excited about the prospect of looting sofas and curtains from Dungeon bosses in Midnight? And getting bookshelves and rugs as quest rewards?
