Just quoting this as this applies to myself too in vast majority of cases. Exception proves the rule.
Well said.
And with regard to housing, I hope it is a huge success. As I have said in the past, this is not for me, but I want it to be really fun for those that have been waiting for it for eons.
I hope the game will be even more fun for you. It will remain fun for me regardless of housing or not. =)
I think it will just be another form of player self-expression and individuality in the game that can also help fund the game and give content to RPers. I don’t see the negative overall. What are we gonna lose? It’s mostly just graphic artists working at this, probably not the gameplay staff. And they will probably also just add assets, that they would have made anyway to create the zones. I have big doubt that they are gonna create new assets for it, unless it’s in the cash shop, at which point the cash shop funds itself anyway.
Optional is an easy word to apply, but meaningless without context.
If one’s entire guild is doing Housing and are hanging out in their shared Neighborhood, then sure, it’s still optional if you want to be part of that social guild experience, but choosing not to be is the equivalent of being the kid who didn’t play with anyone in school.
So how optional is it really?
There’s optional. There’s design emphasis and nudging. And there’s peer pressure.
If Housing ends up being as optional as I perceive micro holidays to be today, then sure, it’ll be optional alright, but I’ll be more than surprised if that ends up being the reality of the situation.
In your opinion. Others disagree and are quite excited to get their hands on the feature in question.
That particular attempt at logic does not follow. The feature has been explained at length and is readily available in rival MMO’s. Many people know exactly what is in store for them and are ready to embrace it as a long term enjoyable feature to engage with.
I think since Legion Blizzard has pushed WoW way too hard into the esports territory, and now they are trying to change it again to just be a videogame again. Now, WoW Esports will still exist, but I hope it’s more of an afterthought after getting the basics right. Player Housing is one of the new things that is attracting a playerbase that has not optimized the fun out of the game.
People who are excited that don’t RP will be bored in days. Maybe a week.
This whole paragraph means nothing. It doesn’t matter how explained it is, or that other MMOs have it. It doesn’t matter what people think is in store for them.
It is none content. People will be bored.
Can’t wait to be proven right.
But hey, at least i get recycled dungeons every season woo. Good use of dev time. Housing.
They are more carebear/RP/let’s all have cuddles and be nice to each other. I’ve played it. They don’t allow DPS meters as it upsets the casuals, if you use it and link you risk punishment.
They have little cutesy sprout icons for newbies aww.
WoW is much much more toxic lol. More of the community is performance based and don’t hold back if people fail.
Yes. Transmogs already exist. Many of the transmogs are even just recolours. One of the art devs already creating tier or w/e for next raid can just doodle them out in his/her spare time.
Nothing is lost. Nothing new is created. Not a whole new system.
I hear a whole dev team is being dedicated to this nonsense housing.
you will get the same amount of raids, dungeons, M+ and world content as you do now. and you have more people working on t than in the past. and on top of that you have a new team on housing that doesn’t take anything way from development of what you like.
