But thats true, there are a number of variations on the incubus theme around the world, and not all of them are attractive. The Trauco in Chille is a hideous deformed dwarf who lulls nubile young women and seduces them, while in Brazil , the Amazon river dolphin (or boto) is believed to be a combination of siren and incubus that shape-shifts into a very charming and handsome man who seduces young women and takes them into the river.
But the “traditional” Incubus is like the Succubus, is so hot, you can call it Mister Fahrenheit

Gay men in denial would draw hot, glistening demon dudes as ugly because they were insecure about their unconscious homosexuality. They were afraid of drawing a hot demon dude with the horns and the tail, smiling at the viewer with intent, because they were afraid of falling in love with that thing, like they used to fall in love with their depictions of female demons and forest creatures.
Fun fact - in every European and African mythology, a being having goat hoofs means it was made for breeding. Everything with goat hoofs is horny. In some cultures, like mine, there have been attempts to sanitize it. Originally our Samodiva were forest creatures with cloven hooves (if you know whaddamsayin), but as the country got sanitized, the Samodiva were changed to simply pretty girls in summer dresses. Hippies. Which is sad.
A non-hot creature with hoofs goes against tradition.
