I agree, however in my honest opinion and I am not pushing it - a multi billion dollar company could do a bit better, especially when it comes to providing services that for the most part must be always online. Sure things happen, but there are those cases when you just had a reset day, a maintenance window to patch / fix things that needed to be either updated or patched. And regardless of that, you are STILL expected to wait for the things to be “fixed” outside of that window, which is kind of silly if you ask me.
I work in a field , where we have patching of virtual environments monthly and we have 3 days, and 8 hours span in between those 3 days to patch every individual customer group (1 day - 1 group of 200+ customers with over 5000 virtual hosts), and it is mandatory to be able to finish it in that time, otherwise you need to somehow manage to do it in the off time next day, or whenever you are certain customer won’t have a need for those services.

I’ve worked for online gaming companies, and my wife is a cisco engineer.
Trust me when I say that networks and connections are one of the hardest, finnicy things to get working properly…
Often the problem is not even the server or the datacenter, but the providers in between doing crazy routing or throttling of network traffic to distribute load, and that’s something nothing Blizzard can do about.
Like…I get how frustrating connection problems are, and I agree that when the cause lies on the server and/or their own implementation they should do better and test better, but in the majority of cases, it’s out of their hands.
