Is this more Blizzard greed? it seems im not wrong!

because the time cards are not in any of the shops near me now. they were 2 months ago. and now this £40 balance card has appeared just when the £19.98 one vanishes. (in my area anyway).

cause i dont want to give blizz my cc details and dont want to be locked into 6 months or whatever of time when i may not play for a significant portion of that. i dont even like being locked into 2 months.

not quite. the fuel is still in your car in 3 weeks time and will give you basically the same distance of driving as if you had drove from day 1.

with WoW sub, if you dont play for those 3 weeks, that time is gone forever.

or maybe people have just grown despondent with the state of the game over recent years, or irl stuff comes up and you need to take some time off?

no one is arguing that if you are going to play continuous for 6 months, then it is far better to go for that option as you save nearly a months cost.

BUT, right now, people dont have that faith for such a distant date in the future.

more than one person has said they regretted getting a 6 month sub when a new mount was released, because it has often occurred around a time where there has been a drought in content.

take now for example, people have been complaining for about 2 months (or more?) that the tier is over and 9.1 should be out. now, add to that that 9.1 may not be out for another 2 months (or more?) and you have 66% of a 6 month sub where the person may rather not have been subbed, and saved the money for 9.1.

if blizz wasn’t trying to control our sub time so hard, people could have taken a break during the content drought without being financially penalized, then come back fresh with the new patch. more chance of players getting burned out this way and leaving for good, but blizzard only seem to care about the short term :\

Considering this is 2021 I’m surprised they are still selling them. Also some countries never had the option to buy them. So if you don’t want blizzard to have your card info use PayPal like everyone else.

Do I get discount if I put more fuel into my car? Don’t think so. I can put 10 Eur inside every day and it will do the same.

It was my first 6 month sub ever. I though, hey what the heck I will have a little more spare time the next 6 month and 9.1 is surely coming around in april to have new grinds where i can waste my time.
Well I was wrong. Was my mistake so I lost my money. Lucky for me is that I have plenty of spare money so it doesn’t hurt me as much as others.

Sub mounts are definitely a trap. They do know that many people like to collect mounts and feel pushed into “buying” the “free” mount. Like the shills saying “you save money AND get a free mount” yeah not so much.
Those stuff is always released when everybody would leave the game because there is nothing to do. So people maybe pay 2 month for nothing as they rarely even log in. Without the 6 month sub they probably wouldn’t have logged in at all and just let their monthly sub run out.

the timing of their 6 month sub garbanzo fiesta is pretty obvious, don’t ya think?

So our carnivorous, shape-shifting, alien reptile overlords can’t track you… they can smell a credit/debit card from parsecs* away.

*other units of distance are available.

Can you not use Amazon, G2A or any other online game store and purchase game time rather than blizzard balance?

You said it yourself:

So, maybe they’re phasing them out and the ones you can still find out there are old stock?
It makes sense to stop making something that is essentially ‘useless’ is it not?

BUT… I don’t think they are. Why are they useless?
It’s BattleNet Balance, right? That’s always useful. You can just add to the balance total and get something when your balance is adequate.

No they dont. They want you play game they made for us all. Its just easy blame them for everything but If you forget cancel your sub it sadly is your own mistake not someone else

What exactly do you think Blizz are going to do with your CC details that a company youre buying the time cards from, or an atm machine wont? Sorry but if thats the reason you buy time cards, it is a bad one.

Also timecards are more expensive, and you dont have to buy 6 months at a time with a subscription… I do 3 months at a time for £28. My friend does 1 month at a time for £9.99, so really you’re giving Blizzard more money because you think they’ll do something with your CC details. And if thats not it, you dont want your partner or parents to find out youre paying for WoW, which is why my other friend used to buy the time cards when he was 14/15…

I spent 9 years working for a bank, and trust me, giving Blizzard your CC details should be the least of your worries.

A Parsec is actually a unit of time; yes, I’m a Star Wars™ geek/nerd, too.

"You’ve never heard of the Millennium Falcon? …It’s the ship that made the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs. " direct quote from Wookieepedia.

Actually Star Wars got it wrong, a PARSEC is a unit of length.

Then I stand corrected that a Parsec is a real unit of measure.

That website has stolen keys all over the place. People have even had stuff revoked from buying from there as the actual devs got charge back used against them, Worst website around.

I have only ever used it for one steam key and didn’t even know it existed a week ago!

Well if the OP is so worried about giving their CC details to Blizz they’ll just have to pay the mark-up on Amazon in order to get a game card or buy Blizzard balance in non gametime denominations.

Except, that was a mistake by Lucas…a parsec is a unit of distance, not time.

Star Wars fixed this error in ‘Solo’ by having Han fly close to close to the Akkadese Maelstrom (effectively using Dijkstra’s algorithm) as a short cut.

Interestingly, the Akkadese Maelstrom has an extremely dense gravity well called The Maw (I see what you did there, Blizz) which can bend spacetime…so at that point Disney had effectively fixed the mistake twice, since this version of doing the Kessel Run in less than twelve Parsecs, involved both distance and time.

Ugh… if it’s a Disney SW film, I’ve heard too much bad about them to want to see them, but TY for the heads-up.

Rogue One is great
I like both Force Awakens and The Rise of Skywalker …The Last Jedi was rather messy and could have used a rewrite in parts and quite a lot of editing.
Solo was also enjoyable, although I would have cast a slightly older looking actress as Enfys Nest, and some of the dialogue was a bit Lucasian…overall it had a really big budget ‘Firefly’ vibe. I think it suffered from coming out too soon after The Force Awakens, Rogue One and The Last Jedi, which meant the audience was a bit jaded with the number of SW releases in such a short space of time.

Watch this, Big chance of your steam key being revoked later down the line. Their name is even censored on the steam forums/steam due to selling stolen keys. A dev even came out and asked people to pirate his game than buy off g2a as he loses money everytime someone does.

TBC launch, probably supply was bought out. That’s the thing with physical goods. They will restock at some point. It’s not greed, it’s suppliers not predicting a spike in demand, because they are not fully aware of the product they sell.

i have always bought them from a shop, so there is no delay from when i decide to play, and when i can actually get to play.

possibly, especially for the £19.98 ones now that 2 months cost £19.99. but i’ve NEVER seen a £40 one before, so i cant help but think they are new?

i dont use a CC for anything. i buy them from the store with cash. i dont want to risk any overspend/oversight resulting in a debt that punishes me. its never been a problem for 15 years. i dont see why it needs to be an issue now when wow is probably not going to be kept going more than another 7 years? however much we like the game, it does have some hard restrictions due to its age, which will show more and more over time.

thats subjective. as i’ve said elsewhere in this thread, if you play for the full 6 or 3 months, you WILL make a saving. but more people are taking more frequent breaks, or they want to. i for example have not played for the last 5-6 days or so. so, if my sub had run out a week ago, i would have wasted 1/4 of a months sub where i could have chosen to wait until tonight in the past.

yeah, dont waste your time on the post 2014 Star Wars films (disney). Star Wars ended in 2014 with the removal of the expanded universe.

episode 7, 8 & 9 were all rubbish and not worth yours or anyones time.

Solo and Rogue one were ok as sci-fi films, but maybe im giving Rogue One too much credit due to the end scene in the corridor.

the bigger problem is that Rogue One was already explained in the PC game (and books) Dark Forces, and due to the changes made by Disney, the protagonist of those events (and later star wars events in general) Kyle Katarn was erased.

the same problem is in Solo with Han Solo’s younger years explained in the 1997 second Solo trilogy of “The Paradise Snare”, “The Hutt Gambit” and “Rebel Dawn”. the first Solo trilogy (The Han Solo Advantures 1979) focus more on his years shortly before A New Hope and are from a time when the Star Wars expanded universe was FAR more muddled (see “Splinter of the Minds Eye”!)

You’re not missing anything by not watching anything Disney provide to the Star Wars name. even the Mandalorian, while i enjoyed it more than anything else Disney has produced, anything to do with Boba Fett is a re-write of already covered events in “The Bounty Hunter Wars” trilogy of “The Mandalorian Armor”, “Slave Ship” & “Hard Merchandise” which while telling of events in the past, also tell of the present, which is just after Return of the Jedi and how Boba Fett escaped the sarlacc and survived.

Having said that, a lot of Boba Fett’s past and origin was probably destroyed by the Clone Wars. off the top of my head, Boba Fett was originally some sort of soldier/police officer called Jaster Mereel. a quick google is only giving me stuff involving Jango (aka post Episode 2) so it may have been retconned for Boba and Jaster to be 2 different people, cause Jasters current bio (law keeper from Concord Dawn) is too close to what i remember at the end of the 90’s being Boba’s history, ie. that Boba used to be called Jaster Mereel from Concord Dawn and was some sort of peacekeeper.

I had known about parsecs being units of length rather than time due to Han Solo using the Maw during a kessel run, so these events must have been either in one of the 6 Han Solo books, or in one of the many Star Wars encyclopedias, so Disney’s Solo explanation is just old news there.

EDIT: yeah, for anyone interested, just found that Jaster Mereel was first introduced in the 1996 short story: “The Last One Standing: The Tale of Boba Fett”, and IS Boba Fett. So Jaster Mereel was retconned out to not be a young Boba, as this would show that Boba Fett was not a clone.

possibly. i am in a bit or a :poop: town so supply is far from great. though i would not blame TBC. i doubt there are enough WoW players in this town to use up all the cards from 4 shops. in GAME there were maybe about a few dozen of the £40 cards, but not one of the £19.98 ones.

Well they are all digital now so it is just a case of inputting the code from the receipt. Exactly the same as if you were to buy gametime from the Blizzard shop.
