They lose a single digit on both their hands and feet.
With another digit on their feet becoming their dewclaw, making them have even less.
It is very strange indeed.

This thread… I just realised, when I now logged into game that my night elf has 5 fingers. You think I am joking, but i did think they had 4 for some reason…
I… I… dont even.
I think they had to remove one finger and one toe for technical reasons. Probably they have an optimal polygon number for each model and 5-5 would be too much. In lore I think they should have five fingers (because of the human hands) and 4 toes + 1 dewclaw (because of the paw).
