1- Need for Speed is not RPG game
2- The game have so many issue regarding gameplay ( Class + PvP/PvE + World Activity , etc )
3- why you Prefer Character customization over gameplay improvement ? the game have so many issue yet the only thing that the players want is how their characters look.
Can ask for both gameplay and customisation improvements, you know.
Blizzard is a big firm, with various departments. Have you considered, that these requests are for the art/customisation team and the gameplay threads are for the development team?

With that i agree, recently i have been playing alot of old content i missed out but shadowlands really feels dull in gameplay right now, with that being said it doesn’t mean if they will add more customization it will sacrifice the gameplay stuff, its 2 different teams working on different things and customization should not stop gameplay development and vice versa
again, see my response on your second point, you act like only 1 team work on anything in the game, it doesn’t work like that buddy, blizzard surely can work on both at the same time, im mainly pvper and i do want more BG maps, more improvements etc etc but i want customization to my nightborne character aswell and we were fighting for it for 3 years and still nothing, imagine what nightborne feels like when they see humans customization amount, yeah… not very good

i main nightborne warrior (Nightevo, been very active here) and thats the theme i wish go with
wanting stuff like that doesn’t mean we want turn wow to “barbie game”
more options to play with the better, for now we just wish at least to look like our npc counterparts, features like slanted eyes, why we don’t have it until now is beyond me

From my experience blizzard can’t work on both at the same time even tho its big company , either they focus on core gameplay or character customization
for example legion vs BFA
legion was great on core gameplay , ofc there is some negative issue regarding random legendary drop
and about character customization there was nothing new .
now lets talk about BFA
core gameplay was completely joke, what they did instead they add allied race , more character customization
and now Shadowland
what are they gonna add? we will find out 9.1 / 9.2
Digital artists create the character customization assets. The assets are integrated into the game by programmers. On the other hand, game and system designers (together with programmers) create or tweak core mechanics. Artists almost never work on core gameplay. If they are not working on character customization they will work on other game assets for new content.
It is indeed not just possible, but an accurate reality that Blizz teams can work on assets and mechanics in the same time.
Legion had tons of new assets as well as new core mechanics. BfA as well. The quality of those core mechanics is a different discussion entirely…

What you think and what Blizzard are, are two totally different things.
Look at WoD. Gameplay and raiding were sound. Customisation and world content were awful.
Look at the end of the day, if you don’t want to contribute to this thread, stop posting and go to your “gameplay” threads.
We’re all entitled to want different things. If you don’t want us to be happy…fine…then leave us to it.
EDIT: What about those on the story forums? They don’t talk about gameplay…they talk about the things they like…the lore and story of Azeroth. We all like different aspects of the game.
What you like, I might not and vise versa…fine…but leave us to talk about what we like and stop with the passive aggressive comments of “barbie game.”

For example Legion introduced the demon hunter class (which features new assets, character customization and core mechanics - being a new class).
In my opinion, your critique approach is neither constructive nor consistent with the objective reality of game development. The game development pipeline is designed to deliver both art assets and game mechanics. Period.

Regardless, DH feature new character customizations (skins, hair colors, tattoos etc) and gameplay additions specific to a new class. And your words were exactly “legion was great on core gameplay”, You have a post cataclysm expansion which featured both new character customization and new core mechanics.

BfA added several playable races and core mechanics revolving around the Heart of Azeroth and Ashjra’kamas, Shroud of Resolve + benthic and corrupted gear for example. Not to mention class balancing.
Now, the quality and design of those mechanics is a different topic - I personally did not like most of them.
The objective truth is that both Legion and BfA featured new character customizations/races and new core mechanics (in some cases poorly implemented, but present).

This barbie game convo is ridiculous.
People like RP elements and customization in their RP games because that’s what RP is all about, escaping your daily life and pretending you are something else in a fictional setting.
Adding appearance is better because it improves immersion and the RP experience.
Besides, if we are already talking about RP, there is a sizable community who -actually- roleplays. Aka, that is their content. They have been ignored for ages and the customizations is one of the best things that happened to it. A shame it was cut short and a shame the race that needed it the most never received it. Still fighting for our customization though, if you don’t like it you don’t have to comment here, honestly, its obviously not the thread for you.
