Indeed. Before pre-patch hits, I’d never use the active one racial (slow) as Piercing Howl did the same and was spammable.

As PH is not spammable anymore, I can now find some utility to the active racial but thats still a pretty sh$tty and underwhelming 3mn CD.

when they give allied races a customisation pass , nightborne should be top of the list for getting fixes.

the statet they are in atm is just embarassing

Void elves are in a weird spot where they got a lot of new stuff but it took them away from being void elves

But at the very least void elves felt like a real playable race from day 1 where as nightborne never felt satisfying

Id say nightborne need more work first

Skin options: 3

Face options: 6

Hair options: 6

Hair colour options: 6 (7 for males if you count no hair)

Earring options: 7 (including no earings)

Tattoo options: 4 (including no tattoos)

Void elf:

Skin option: 25

Face option: 18

Hair option: 11

Hair colour: 8

Eye option: 7

Earing: 5

You can make over 1 million unique looks and you still complain?!

absolutely!
NB are in dire need of more options ASAP, it is unconcivable how such a cool and stylish AR has so few customizations. Particularly seeing the amount of attention that went into suramar and its NPCs.

VB are in a very weird spot indeed, their new customizations do not serve their race fantasy, and serve only to pretend not to be a void elf, they just hastily copy pasted skin tones from BEs to VEs.
I don’t think there’s much else to do here, people ask for blond hair, ok, but what for? just to pretend not to be a VE better?
VEs are VOID elfs, that is their thing, they have already been pulled out of thin air, and instead of getting new customizations in line with their voidy heritage, they got customizations that hides it, as if blizz tried to clumsily compromise for high elf fans. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy for the HE fans that are fine with this sort of comprromise, but I am not fine with it and I think Blizz missed the mark here.
at least racials are good.

Nah sorry the nightborne heritage armor is bad. Dunno why it has to give the chin piece at all. Its too heavy looking it should be more lighter and way more revealing, and no ugly chin piece. You are female character but your face looks like male :frowning: I leveled my nightborne for the heritage armor but i was so disappointed i couldnt wear it.

Bump, i really like the idea and i hope nightborne get more customization, they are really lack in options sadly
nightborne are one of my favorite allied race, i might be in minority but i kinda like the player’s eye shape but i hope for more eyes option like eye color and shape, more hair colors and skin colors would be dope

These are great suggestions! A kilt option instead of pants would allow for much more customization.
Also a little less cloth in the armor overall would be nice: so many of the NPC nightborne just have metal plates hovering about without almost anything underneath. The heritage armor makes it look like I have the only nightborne on Azeroth that’s deathly afraid to be cold

Some ideas i had recently for nightborne customization

  1. as some stated before me, arcane infused hairstyles similar to voidelf hairstyles will be pretty cool to have few options like these (look at arcanist’s manasaber tail, i can imagine same idea with hairstyle and i get hyped just to think about it)
  2. different face options, like we have few but they kinda look the same with little difference, maybe some skin/face option to make the player less skinny, saw awhile ago also suggestions of nightfallen face options to people who like this style
  3. edit/add new animations, sometimes NB feels like they have less animations than other races, compare jumping with NB to a blood elf, sometimes the postures clipping with other stuff (mounts/mog) which seem odd, while i like the player model i think we still need a rework on the player model lookwise (bodyshape etc) and animations
  4. tattoos, while i love my current tattoo on my NB warrior more options will sure make alot people happy, maybe some options that glows much more than current ones so it will be more visible
  5. at first the nails on female feet model seemed odd for me, might be only me though but personally i would like to change it to less vampire-sharp nails
  6. its not cosmetic thing but maybe a buff for racial ability? i barely use it since its feels weak and very long cd

i really like the idea of felborne, it will go along for classes like warlocks or if they will add in the future DH for nightbornes, i have some more ideas in mind might add later to thread but as i see so many people like nightborne as a race, many want to play them but turned off because of the lack of customization and sort of weak racials, i feel like with little bit of rework on the models and adding customizations it sure will be one of popular played allied races

i believe in blizzard that they are working on nightborne and will surprise us hopefully in near future, as Velfs got more customizations with shadowlands we still have hope! Amen :smiley:
