The daily calling quest gives ~1750g worth of gray items.
They’ll most likely get enough for a 190ilvl item by doing their daily calling before getting enough soul ash to get said legendary

Hi, I’m crafting legendaries on my server. I am going out and collecting all the materials to make them. I have just reach rank 4 on one item. I spent 3 days (yes THREE DAYS), collecting the materials to through Rank 3 to Rank 4. I then spent around 60k on Vendor Materials. If I had purchased all these materials from AH, rather than farmed them, I would have spent approximately 500k gold.
And I am disgusted that despite all of this time and effort, people are on AH selling these items for only 40k gold each.
Price should be higher imo.
Having said that. On to your point. Blizzard is trying to sell Wow-tokens. Everything in Shadowlands has been designed around selling more Wow-tokens. Either you are committing alot of your time to the game or you need to buy a wow-token to get boosts or get enough gold to pay your way through the game.
They helped crafters? Is it why crafting legendaries is not profitable?
Why is it not profitable? If you sell mats, you will get more gold then crafting lego (almost universal for leatherworking at least on my main high pop realm) and you need to sit at AH to cancel auctions constantly because of multiboxers or bots maybe who are in-game basically all the time. Higher ranks are also prone to not being profitable and you need to craft 15 items before you can craft higher, more expensive rank (45 before max rank).
On top of it, mid rank lego crafts are pointless and in my opinion should be removed since you can skip upgrading and go straight to max rank. Most power comes from lego effect anyway.
One of my friends is a new player, he already made 500k gold with barely any real farming, which is enough for any lego.
Unrelated. Just one player with an add-on which scans and cancel auctions, multiboxers work on the mats market not the Legos. As you said, more profitable.
It’s super easy to make 50k now. Just play the game, do your callings, play healer/tank in group finder with bonus, go double gatherer, do all your M0 as enchanter and DE/sell eternal crystals etc etc.
There’s many easy ways to make gold.
You do not have to buy it through marketplace. You can grind the materials and have a crafter make you one.
I never got the MoP cloak, or the WoD legendary(which I btw don’t even remember if was a ring or a trinket). I didn’t even reach rank 15 in BFA, as I cba’ed and had already cleared N’zoth heroic. It never bothered me. If you want something, you tend to aim for it. Most people who don’t get their legendary, don’t care for it.
My point was that gold is not that hard to make and prices for legos are actually low, beside being harder to sell legos because people have dedicated client/char camping AH.
Roll a clothie, some of their items are low as 200g
50k? The item I was initially after was 300k
Obviously affordable for non-fleeting players (like me - although I decided it wasn’t worth the cost anyway and got a different one) but many players are SOL at that price. Literally pricing people out of having such an important item because of huge vendor costs & absurd crafting “unlock” system.
I went into lfr and sold a boe from it for 90k gold boots.
1 calling if lucky. There is mad gold in those things.
