Anyway, it’s for all cosmetic items. Not just ‘glorious magnificent highly desirable’ transmog.
Of course you won’t lose mounts or pets.
You won’t get to keep the overpowered gear and the Remix exclusive artifact weapon, most likely. But everything you bought with bronze or got as a drop in raids when it comes to mounts, toys, pets, transmog is all going to be in retail.

Don’t get me wrong, I love some transmogs but the Legion Remix transmogs aren’t really skimpy enough for my characters so… 
Think I’m in the minority of being female and playing female characters (mostly Belfs) with skimpy transmogs
It would make the whole thing marginally interesting if we could.

Ah I see.
Well, I do have to admit that I’m not very impressed with the unique transmog created for this Remix. In that regard I liked the MoP Remix stuff much more. But that all comes down to taste.
I’m simply not into stuff like the Sargerei Commander Transmogs. Objectively they’re pretty good mogs, but I would never wear something like that. To me it looks like a warrior set and I don’t want my hunter(s) to look like that. It’s just not my thing.
Thankfully there are some Legion sets that were never released that we can get now. So there is some stuff for me to get, but overal so far Legion Remix has been a disappointment for me. Which really surprises me since Legion is still my top expansion.
The biggest issue I have is that we’re not getting Mage Tower Artifact appearances; not even recolours. That’s just such a big L from Blizzard I just don’t understand what they’re thinking. It’s the old Blizzard showing their true colours once again; being stubborn and thinking they know best. To paraphrase Brack: “They think they do, but they don’t.”
There will be a catch up system in november in the road map for legion remix so I’m first gonna jump in there.
Sounds like this event will be bad compared to mop remix, and no mage tower instantly killed the hype for me
Bringing back trials of valor mythic color version set is a big mistake imho, it was an extra reward for those with the chosen title (expect a few rich guy who bought the boxes before the fix, but they dont have chosen achi).
Recolors would be fine.
