You are right but after this long of a time they could also use those things that once where fomo to draw in people.
I actually saw someone with the Corrupted Ashbringer last year and it was amazing to witness, mostly because it told a story of time and place.
People keep saying “prestige doesn’t matter” or “FOMO is stupid,” yet they’re the first to demand these items back.
If it really doesn’t matter, then why bring them back at all? You can’t claim something has no value and then argue it’s unfair you don’t have it.
Either they matter or they don’t, pick one.

While for me the MT artifact appearances aren’t the only reason to play Legion Remix, I am very very disappointed by their shortsighted decision.
First of all: They are making this decision to appease a minority of elistists at the cost of upsetting a far, far larger part of their playerbase.
Second: There’s acceptable alternatives which they are blatantly ignoring. The most obvious one is simply making a new recolor of these appearances and just giving us that.
At least that would be something instead of this spitting in our faces with their ‘no, these few players are more important than all of you’ attitude.

they could have made recolors, or new appearances, to create a type of Fomo for newer players, or players what havent played back in Legion because of a break
but to add nothing special/new is kinda lazy work by them

It’s hilarious watching people get upset over this. Like it even matters. It’s only a computer game. Literally nobody cares that you don’t have Cosmetics from 10 years ago. Go and earn some of the games current cosmetics and then we’ll be impressed.
Please show me where they said that this wasn’t going to happen.
They only said the Mage Tower appearances would not be added in (which was the correct decision).

but they could have made atleast a recolor variante, or a complete new type of Weapon/or mogg item for a Remix Mage tower challenge
A: to catch more people/players from Legion

It is a good thing, that u cant get the old Items back like corrupted Ashbringer challenge mode mop sets/ Legion Magetower (the orginal versions)
but then give atleast something New what is “cool” or worth to Mogg/use
I think wow hasn’t released any good/unique fomo items for years apart from glad mounts, thats why most of these people are upset i guess

Genuinely I think they should have just put unique and time limited transmogs available in every expansion.
That gives people something to work for.
People only want these because they can’t have them. Let them earn something TWW related. Doesn’t need to be weapons every time.

I disagree on this.
I think a large part of what makes the mage tower stuff desirable is that the game rarely gives class/ spec weapons. Especially not flashy ones.
I think if they made flashy spec weapons every expansion people would largely stop caring about the mage tower stuff.
Basically i think theres a gap in the transmog that these fill.

There were some pretty neat ones on the Trading post recently. And even Pandaria remix gave us the recolours.
Oh and the 20th Anniversary Sets, and the Diablo sets in the game right now!

“Prestige” has nothing to do with wanting an item. There are many “prestige” items I dont want. For me its about how the item looks, not how and/or when you got it. I dont care if people are able to unlock items I have that are no longer available, I got those items for myself and myself alone, I trully could not give a rats… what the person next to me has.

Fair - if it’s only about the visual for you personally, then I get that. But the wider argument here often revolves around removing exclusivity altogether for everyone, not just making a case for a good looking design.
What I find strange is when people claim that nobody cares about prestige or “it’s just pixels,” but then argue so strongly for bringing those pixels back. If the design alone is the appeal, there are tons of great, similar options in the game already. It doesn’t have to be that exact one.
So at some point, it does become a conversation about rarity and perceived value, whether people admit it or not.
Personally, I’d much rather see Blizzard introduce new item/set designs in any Remix, things made with care and detail, instead of recycled ones stripped of their original context. I’d be far more than content with that.

I totally agree that the designs were peak, which is exactly why they were time limited.
I also missed part of that era, sadly, but I’m aware that it’s just how MMOs have always worked. You had to be there.
On a positive note, there are literally tons of other cool, obtainable weapons from both before and after Legion - just so many great options to chase.
The same was said about the spellwing mount from AotC Antorus. And yet it’s still getting back. Where is the edge in what can and can’t return, I wonder?

It does though. For example the recent mount fumble with Inarus and Tyraels charger. I wanted Tyraels for my paladin since it uses the invincible model and flight animations. Why Inarus doesnt work is that the colors arexall wrong for the set I’m using, while Tyraels fits. You can find many reasons why you need that exact item with that exact color.
However on the other hand I would say that if FOMO items ahould return, they should be unlocked via simmilar challenges. For example current TM unlocking the Legion weapons.
