Just tested, my tauren shaman still spreads his legs pretty wide.

My dreanei girls and night elf ladies now keep their legs shut as some western puritans. I’m sad.

Problem was when they implemented it they just added it for every mount even those that didn’t have any clipping at all. Which made majority of mounts look ridiculous. Like the character was struggling to not sit or overly touch a wet saddle.
So people whined about it (Me included, I hated it!) and Blizz reverted back to old style even if the legs clip through the mount.
This is an issue where Blizzard just need to do it on a mount per mount basis for each race and gender or make it a toggleable option.

I wish! But no, not all of them! My collection of mounts is small (never bothered until recently) and I could not find one mount that would have that sitting. I sent several chars to Bastion specificaly to be able to ride this Phalinx mount and ENJOY this position of sitting. Now u’d call me a weirdo, but what we are in this game if not those who enjoy all the little thing in WOW.
Damn, thats why all my vicious sabers have texture flopping with nelfie legs…
I thought they were simply poorly done, but it could be intentional
