Let survival hunters dual wield

I already said this in another thread but I’ll say it again…

My sisters huzzy worked for blizz and KNOWS why it was changed into melee. The team over there actually like FF14, and for that reason, they took inspiration and opportunity to make SV melee so they had a spec somewhat similar to the Dragoon Job in FF14. Did no one wonder why that quest with that high mountain tauren was slaying dragonkin…

You will NOT get dual wield, they have the fantasy they want. The same for RSV, it’s not coming back either.

Funny though that ff14 can have 3 physical ranged dps out of 18 total jobs, and keep them different and enjoyable, but wow has 2 specs out of 36 and claim they can’t revert SV because its too similar to MM (which it wasn’t). Trust me when I say you aint getting DW in game or RSV back.

Deal with it.

Honestly. If you just looked first 1/4 of my post above you would notice that SL survival has faaar more bigger issues than DW or not.

Weird or plain none spell interaction, 2/4 covenant abilities unusable, 3rd being our freaking talent on mild steroids. Pet revive time etc etc.

As for Dragoon. I play it on FF14. Meme with always dying first :disappointed_relieved:
I do see how Survival COULD look like Dragoon being that it wields 2H spear, tho any similarities stop there. Survival has pet, a clunky mechanic which plates doesnt quite spin nicely and you actually need to use cookie cutter build to make it a bit less clunky and competitive with other melees.
For a niche class it brings NOTHING to groups that any other class isnt bringing already and doing better than Survival.

IYAM Survival had identity crisis from the start, however Artifact Weapons ability made it work OKish.
Its mindbogglingly why they decided to remove it completely, but leave majority of others in a form of a talent or baseline.
It was fun ability and playstyle for me.
Build up Mongoose Fury window, Dump as much as Mongoose Bite’s as you can and fire FotE to burst additionally and extend Fongoose Fury window a bit.

It would also solve our clunky AoE/Cleave and it would allow it full removal of Carve since we would have FotE as cleave/AoE.

Tho both games are MMORPGs you cant quite compare them a lot since they have few mutual systems - tab targeting combat. Dungeons. Raids. Trinity System. Thats it.

I still believe they should have given Legion SV more time by polishing what they had. They made a good start but went completely off the rails. I loved Flanking Strike and was sad to see it go. I would rather take Lacerate over Serpent Sting and that rubbish hand Xbow animation. They tried to appease the ranged crowd by giving SV more ranged abilities in BFA and this was a mistake IMO. It boggles the mind that current SV has just ONE. MELEE. ABILITY.

If they really want to keep Raptor Strike for whatever reason then bake Lacerate into the ability because it is what a raptor’s claws would do -> lacerate you. The only thing I would keep from BFA is Wildfire Bomb and Wildfire Infusion. Everything else they added in BFA can go.

I think it’s all well and good to talk about class issues, but the topic is about Duel wielding.
Not intricacies of spec play.

Just release mog restrictions. Problem solved.
2h into dual or single 1h.
Would also make warriors happy with there love for the old duel wielding 1h.

As far as I’m concerned. If I can wear it I should be able to mog it.

I advocate that too. But Blizzard being what they are - a stubborn child specifically said that weapon restrictions for classes are in place so you could have visual clue against which class are you fighting without the need to check.

Like:
it rolls and uses two weapons - WW monk.
it rolls and has big stick on the back - BrM or MW.
etc etc

Blizzard also advocate’s that they would have to redo a lot of spell animations in order for certain weapons to look decent.
Honestly - This is just a plain lie. And that mildly said.
I use 3rd party morphing tools that allows me to morph my weapons however i see it fit.
I play Survival as DW and theres nothing wrong with its animations.

Tbh its funny to see how they are slowly reverting that decision with few classes, yet they simply REFUSE to give survival DW.

As will all agreed on Bay’s yesterday stream when we talked about DW vs 2H frost DK that best decision across the board is to simply fully remove weapon transmog limitation and border it with only weapons that your class can equip, that is transmog 2H > 2x1H and vice versa.

The weapon being the class doesn’t really work when there are… 4 specs in plate alone that use a single 2h.
Most casters use staves.
And you won’t know what type of rogue it is until you’re bleeding or poisoned.

Pandaren being there own issues, having to guess who’s side those round lads are.
Not to mention if you Mog a monk with fist weapons, Ya probably won’t know till it starts jabbing you in the face, because half the time there weapons don’t even show.

I agree, they already have the technology. For example on my feral Druid I currently have a 2h polearm equipped but I can transmog it to my feral artifact which is 2x 1h so why can’t an SV hunter xmog a 2h to 2x 1h?

Completely agree with you! Thats why i made video in my previous post.
Just to prove that their claims back on start of Legion, when Blizzard first implemented current weapon restrictions, are obsolete completely.

An extra bit on top of that is the addition of cosmetic armor. My helmet included. Can be mogged onto any class/armor.
And other full body change toys.

Now that I think about it. I can still use all my actions while using the buzz saw Toy which changes my default weapon into me wielding buzz saw hands.

i cant understand why they changed it they should have just left it, dual wield seems better for hunters…

We need this back, it was a very stupid decision by Blizzard to remove player choice in Legion. I support dual wield hunter!
