Staff is still obtainable, even today. But only if you’re on the last quest, which is the Stratholme part.
“I can’t get everything therefore I’m not even going to bother with the game”
I wonder how many people worldwide that are still playing now have Atiesh … I would think almost none. I’m also pretty sure they wouldn’t object to others gaining it so long as it was worked for. A hard, complicated, long questline would work …
I don’t have Atiesh, though I was playing and raiding back then but we never progressed much past early BWL/AQ40 so never raided Naxx in vanilla. I do however have benediction/anathema and I think both staffs should be returned to the game and made available. It hurts no one for them to be there.
There are feats of strength for having the originals. Bring the items back but with no feats, surely then everyone would be more or less happy?!
Just editing, with regards to Atiesh, if it was brought back through Naxx boss kills, you could always make the shards a low percent drop per boss (1-2%) and keep them soulbound. That in itself would maintain it’s rarity.
Nope, no need to have Atiesh released to the masses. It’s a memento of a bygone era that should be left to rest. Do you also believe they should release the Fluorescent Green Mechanostrider, or Martin Fury? Perhaps even the Talisman of Binding Shard? All of these have very temporarily been available in the game.
Can’t say I care, nor mind. I’m not a caster, will never be a caster. So the staff has never interested me. But sure, why not bring it back.
I’d like an updated legendary bow hunter quest though (with a better model for the bow/staff). Although I don’t want it to be like the vanilla one… Man I hated that. Did it, back in the day, but I absolutely hated it.
It’s exactly what I hate about it. It’s too demanding. Not worth the time and effort whatsoever. So it might as well be unobtainable. In regards of bringing back discontinued stuff, this has been their worst idea so far.
Imo everything that has ever been in the game should still be attainable.
I am against removing rewards and content, in general.
Well I mean… there are things you get for free on the mail. Things you get by just simply playing whatever.
Others you have to farm specific content to get it.
Others are a supid long RNG farm (mounts come to mind)…
And others are a crazy “insane in the membrane” farm.
What is the issue? I like variety. And everyone needs an activity to do. Even those that adore gruiling farms.
Prove me wrong but if i remember well, the first “catch up” implemented in tbc final raid content. So it wasnt “quick” for me.
They implemented 10 man Karazan. And dailies in the quelthalas island.
I should have clarified first “catch-up” mechanisms with first “experiments” with catch-up mechanicms.
The issue is that I don’t want to do it.
It’s insane what they’re asking a player to do for an old set. I don’t think the reward matches the effort.
Then dont ! What is the problem?
I would like many things but I dont feel like doing them. So I dont.
Well… how many things in this game fall under that category (both too hard for the reward, or too easy for the reward).
It dosent match according to you. So its fine IMO. It fulfills its purpose.
I am sure that the individuals that did get their T3 farm done do think it was worth their effort. Otherwise they would have not done it.
Oh, I won’t do it. But that still doesn’t make me ‘like it’.
I can accept something being a certain way, but still think it’s bad that it IS that way.
Yeah well… we can add T3 farm to a long list of things that fall under that category.
I wanted to add that I used to be into crazy farms in the past.
I have the “insane in the membrane”. Vanilla requirements. With Shendralar rep, and the Goblins at exalted while simultaniously being revered with the bucaneers.
Did that once. Wont do anything remotely similar ever again in my life. In fact. I am open to saying that it left a permanent scar in my psikie that gives me nausea every time I hear the word “farm for something”.
Thats not gear catchup, it was one of the starter raids in tbc.
Correct.
But why 10 man?
And why drastically easier than the rest?
Well blizz probably wanted to get more new players to hop on raids, i also started raiding that time.
Exactly. And if you happened to start a bit later after TBC lauch you farmed karazan first.
It was their “experiment” sort of speak.
Blizzard should reintroduce all removed items, the way they were originally obtained. According to Wowhead’s data of the scanned characters on the website, so few has obtained Atiesh, Greatstaff of the Guardian that it says “Attained by 0% of profiles”.
I don’t find it fair that certain items are removed due to limited events or by simply being “prestigious” for some people. If Blizzard think this is fine, then why can we can still solo any old raid in the game for most legendary items? Items ranging anywhere from actual gear to mounts and achievement rewards which we who played the content when it was current worked our butts off to obtain, which now people obtain by one-shotting bosses and hope they are lucky. It doesn’t make sense at all.
When the old legendary items were current content people worked hard and farmed a lot to obtain them. We had to do the raids properly and couldn’t just one-shot bosses like everyone do today to obtain them.
And as mentioned the removed items should be obtained from their original source. So not a Zackett Skullsmash 2.0 where you have to spend millions of gold to obtain them. I completely understand the need for a gold sink the way Zackett currently works, but not to a degree where it crosses the line. I don’t want to spend a fortune selling WoW Tokens, as Blizzard presumably want us to do.
Yes i would needed to do karazan, that was my point. Karazan was not" experiment" or “catchup”, it was the 1st raid in tbc. Same as vanilla started with its starter raid. There wasnt any “catch-up” dailies or dungeons to skip until sunwell raid. You needed to go to karazan, gruul and magtheridons lair to go naga and tempest raid, and to go after hyal and black temple. You needed prev raid tiers to raid higher tiers. This was also the case in wotlk until trials.
