I don’t like the level squish and I don’t like stat squishes either. They harm the sense of progress - you do 100 damage per hit, then 1000, then 10,000, and then bam and you do 100 damage again, that’s bad. Same for levels.
All these squishes are merely busywork which costs a lot of time that could have been spent much better on adding gameplay. How about having closer class balance, eh? Or having more interesting power systems? Nah, let’s do the stupid squish of stupidity #3 and spend 25% or so of dev resources on the idiocy that merely reshapes numbers without adding anything. These squishes also introduce tons of bugs and no, the devs don’t fix all of them after, quite a number invariably remains unfixed. All of these stupid squishes should have been a UI-level option of “show me my mega-levels” (and then you see squished numbers like 1-60 even though all underlying combat uses real numbers) vs “nah, show me the real numbers” (and then Shadowlands is levels 120-130, etc).
