Leveling as healer in dungeons? - does it get better?

i belived easyest was monk where u just chanel mist nostop :stuck_out_tongue:

Some people just consider they outgeared the content already and they just pull everything in sight thinking the healer can heal through it. If they do that on the first pull and everyone barely survives and healer is oom and yet they immediately go to repeat the same thing in another room, it´s better to leave and find another group… some tanks just have no idea what their skill and gear can reasonably handle, no point of wasting time with them. But I would not giving up on healing, just don´t bother wasting time with bad groups…

Do you have your mouseover macros set up?

I found healing to become a lot more fun once i had those things.

How dare you have low mana because you healed them?
You should have let them die and get kicked before i guess? :stuck_out_tongue:

Nah, you have to learn only 1 thing: Between low XP players its always the healers fault.

It does, the better the groups your get in by increasing your Rio these problems will totally vanish. A proper group in dungeons will use their defensives when they have to, will not take much avoidable damage and if they do they will use a healing pot. Thats how it goes

Good luck and have some patience there, i know its a long-hard road to get to ez living.

Healing and tanking in LFG low level land is rough, very very rough. Especially because of overzealous baboons who consider themselves God and Emperor of all Warcraft, and everyone is beneath their superiority.

Honestly, WoW has a massive superiority issue, a lot of players run around with their nose stuck up in the sky. They have a very hard time playing along with others.

I’m afraid it doesn’t get any better. A healer and tank needs to grow an incredible thick skin to survive PuG land with a sliver of their sanity left. Lucky for me, I lost my sanity years ago. Never missed it.

not at all.

As a tank I am always top dps, top heal and obviously being the tank.
Being the tank you can easy carry the greatest noobs but it ain’t fun and it will be slow.

The dps are some real potatoes. I am people are lvl 59 and do 500 dps. I don’t even know how that is possible but seems it is.

As a healer though you want to delete yourself as the dps are terrible and now the tanks is also terrible in 90% of the cases.

Once in a while you got some good dps that carry the run but maybe every 5th dungeon.

Having a better group means, you as a healer don’t even need to heal.
I level all my tanks from 50 to 60 just with dungeons and I did not even lose 1% of my HP till about lvl 57 where I start taking a little dmg.

People are way more toxic when leveling

After seeing all the random healers and a friend get constantly yelled at in dungeons… the advice of ‘‘just change spec and heal dungeons for fast leveling on that alt’’ goes to deaf ears for me. Outside of majority premade of course, where you can’t get kicked lol. Not quite pleasant nor fast if you keep getting thrown out into a deserter wait-out.

I had a slight interest in trying out healing, but definitely not anymore.

OP, the level squish and resulting loss of cc spells on lower level toons make bfa (and some mop) dungeons a lot harder than they should be. The tank should understand this. I remember after prepatch I jumped right into tanking freehold at level ten and I didn’t even have taunt yet and could not keep aggro on some mobs that were ST dpsed out of my aoe.

This means tank and also dps need to see each run what the level distribution is, and if they don’t take that into consideration it can get chaotic.

In SL normals (levelling) you will face the same mana issues (maybe not so much on resto), but do as others have suggested above, bring your own drinks (buy at innkeeper) and drink as soon as you drop combat, then use your druid speed to catch up with tank and hot+swiftmend.

The chaos in SL dungeons is better than in bfa levelling ones, but you still have a lot of people rushing, especially DH tanks due to their aoe damage=heal mechanic, and they are meta and in almost half my dungeon runs atm.

But don’t give up! It gets better the more you play and the more comfortable you get. I think druid being a more planning (pre-damage hotting) healer it might be a bit more difficult in dungeons you don’t know.

PS: it’s okay to let dps die who constantly rush and pull. Focus on the tank so he can pull the mobs off if he decides, but if he lets the dps face tank, your healing will just give you aggro and you die.

it can be rough in some instances if people still think its pre shadowlands scaling full blast yolo pulling.

if you run stratholme it can be kinda rough, thats my experience atleast. Healing feels more like a +10 mythic dungeon in some cases
